Why am I getting an Android Update and it's getting blocked by the settings?

Hello I am using a Samsung galaxy note 5 and today on the January 3 2017 I got a message that there's an Android update and all the buttons on my cellphone stopped working except the power one so I tried to lock and unlock my device maybe the popup will disappear but it didn't.Luckily I was able to use my "Ok Google" detection and i did get some information about the Android update(the phone was saying the information because I was not able to read the informations) but the message was still on my screen and I asked Google about the latest version of the Android update but it was different then the one in the message and in the message there where only one button and it was Update.I clicked the button but my phone Blocked the update and the phone said that it was not safe(the phone said that it was blocked cause it was an unknown source)! Please help ! (Ps:I did screen capture the message but I don't know if i can send it)!Thank you!

I have not tried it on Bluetooth as I had some problems with previous version messing up my Bluetooth audio

Why is my s4 dying when switching to mobile data

Hi! I have an s4 i9505 which keeps restarting in certain actions. I wake up, take it off the charger, 100% battery, do whatever for a couple of hours (not spending the couple of hours on my phone - moderate use), battery now at ~65%, I switch the wi-fi off and mobile data on (that seems to trigger it every time), the phone restarts a couple of seconds later and turns on with 0% battery, and then shuts off. If i try to turn it on, it does with ~45%, and shuts off. If i put in on the charger while off, it starts charging like it's completely empty and jumps to 45% a couple seconds later. Couple of minutes of charging is enough to make it last for another couple of hours then. Been to Samsung repair shop, they say it could be literally anything. 1 work hour over there is 20 euros just to find out what's the problem. New battery around 50 euros. Not trying either of those if it might not solve my problem. Hope somebody here had, and solved that problem. My ex had the same problem on s3 and she threw it away, bought a new phone... BT audio lag with video playback

Just moved over to a V20 from a Note 3. So far I'm loving the phone, but I've noticed that when playing video and listening through a BT headset, the audio track lags with respect to the video track to the point of being noticeably out of sync. The amount of lag varies considerably depending on which headset I'm using. With one it appears to be >>100 ms, perhaps as much as a half-second; with another, it's essentially negligible.

Anyone else notice this?

S7 Edge (ATT) 25% call (non completion) issue (as of 1-3-2016).

Since about Nov 2016 my S7 Edge has had terrible call completion problems. It seems that the calls "leave" the phone but do not "ring" on the other end. If I wait for for a message from the carrier, eventually the call just disconnects from the carrier. HELP!

Iwowinfit i6 pro and bluetooth

I got the iwownfit i6 pro for Christmas. It's a neat little device and does two of the three features I wanted really well: function as a watch and notify me of messages/calls. The third feature I really wanted was to allow my i6 to by a Trusted Device for my S7 (running 6.0.1, AT&T). For some reason, the i6 does not show up as a device available during bluetooth scanning. Yet, I have the corresponding i6 app (iwownfit) on my S7, and it shows it's connected and it has been syncing properly. I can't figure out why the i6 doesn't show up in my S7! I have cleared data/cached from Bluetooth Share and rebooted. I've also wiped my cache partition. No luck.

Any suggestions?

SD Card corruption! Twice...

I've had two MicroSDXC card go bad while in the S2 8.0 One was a Samsung card and the second a PNY. Has anyone else lost TWO of these card within a year or so? Other than this, my S2 has been a stellar performer. When these cards go, they can't be reformatted or read by any devices.

Motorola Droid Turbo - Same Specs as N6

I bought my kids refurbished Motorola Droid Turbos off of eBay about six months ago for $115 each. They're darn nice little phones, so out of curiosity, I checked out the comparison between the Droid Turbo and my N6. As it turns out, they're almost identical phones, which I guess shouldn't surprise me seeing as they came out at about the same time and from the same manufacturer, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Processor: Same
System Board: Same
Graphics Processor: Same
RAM: Same
Screen Resolution: Same
Screen Type: Same (AMOLED)
Front Facing Camera Resolution: Same
Qi Charging: Same ('yes')
WiFi Bands: Same

Where the phones differ:

The Motorola Droid Turbo has a 21 megapixel back camera and a 20% larger battery(!).

The N6 has a more capable LTE radio (bands) and a larger screen (if that's your thing).

I'm actually a little jealous, and might need to pick up a Turbo to use as a backup or for when I want a smaller screen.

Is there any way to save images found through google search without having to go to "view original image?"

Long pressing on the image does nothing, and if I press the three vertical dots it lists "View original image" and when I press that it takes me to the image where I can then long press and choose to download it. It seems a bit cumbersome of a process.

LeanDroid can automatically disable Wi-Fi, cellular Data*, cellular radio*, Bluetooth, and location* (networks and GPS), and switch cellular network modes. It will do so a certain amount of time after the screen turns off to conserve battery power and lower data usage. Connections are automatically restored when the screen is turned back on, and periodically while the screen is off to allow for push notifications. Only connections that were automatically disabled by LD are re-enabled. Connections that were manually disabled are left untouched. There are many additional options and exceptions to set to your preference.

Some options explained:
Disable Wi-Fi/Data/Network mode except if active - Connections are only disabled if there is negligible data transfer while the screen is off. Some music services don't "stream" but instead download entire songs at once, and they might do this while the screen is still on. Please set the disable time interval to at least the length of your average song so LD can catch data activity while the screen is off or use the except if "Except if apps running" option.

Disable Wi-Fi except if requires browser login - WiFi is not disabled if it requires a browser login (common for public hotspots or guest networks), so that you do not have to re-enter the password when it is re-enabled.

Disable except if apps running - No connections are disabled if one of the selected apps is found to be running in the foreground or has foreground services. There is a sub-option to also detect background services of the apps.

Restore Data after waiting xx seconds for Wi-Fi to connect - Wait for WiFi to connect before re-enabling cellular data. This prevents data from re-connecting for just a couple of seconds.

*Note:
-Not all options are available on all devices.
-Dual SIM phones may not disable data/cell radio/network mode on both SIMs as the code varies by manufacturer.
-If you are on Android 4.4.1 - 4.4.2, a persistent notification is required due to a bug in KitKat where services cannot restart themselves once killed by the system. If you would like to hide the notification, find LeanDroid in Settings -> Apps, and un-check "show notifications".

I'm note thrashing the Pixel but just found it strange how of a PITA it was to sell and the least profitable and yet one of the expensive androids out there.

How long has this been out. Forget that I ended only selling it for $750 (CAN) but the numerous of buyers not responding back or not showing up.

I expected to make money off it but I got owned. LOL

Lost $100 owning it for two months.

One of the reasons was I regret not waiting for the 128GB and thought I could live with 32GB and I know I want the OnePlus 3t Soft Gold more so I figured I might as well sell it while it's hot.

Didn't really see a better place to put this, so I'll put it here. I can't find a way to lighten dark videos taken with my Pixel. I don't know if I'm missing something or not. In Google photos you can do all kinds of editing (including lightening) of your photos, but for video there are no options at all. I've searched the app store and can't really find anything there either. Any ideas/help are appreciated.

Using "hangouts" on S4...poor quality. Should I use phone, like iphone 6s or Samsung with internet capabilities? Will this eliminate need for app? I live in an area that can't get cell reception because of hills. Had an 3G extender but that broke and I'm not sure if there is a network extender for 4G. Going to Verizon doesn't help as I get different info. Don't know what to do but I NEED reception, either through internet or extender!

Please help me? Verizon basically can't help as their is no tower near me.

Constant ticking sound from Bluetooth headphones

These Altec Lansing headphones are brand new, I just plugged them in and gave them a go less than an hour ago, and what do you know, they make this constant, irritating ticking sound. Multiple ticks per second. I will add that the phone is about three years old. I'm using the 3.5 mm auxiliary cable the headphones came with.

I've never had a problem with the phone's built-in speakers. The sound is slightly contrasted between when there's audio playing and when there isn't - when there isn't, it's more of a "click-like" sound. I know the cable is plugged in securely on both ends. I don't why this happening.

This is a dual-pane explorer, there are two folders shown at same time, and common operation such as copying files are done from one pane to another.

Windows provides a number of ways to launch installed programs or features. There's the Start Menu, there's shortcuts on the Windows desktop, there's even the Windows Search and Run features. For many people, the facilities already available are quite sufficient.

However, without organisation, the Programs section of the Start menu can become a very busy place. Programs have shortcuts placed in folders named after the program itself, or sometimes the publisher, or sometimes the category the program belongs in. If you're anything like me and you install programs a lot, you probably put the program you're installing in the default location and allow it to put a shortcut on the desktop and sometimes in the Quick Launch bar -- and once it becomes almost impossible to see your wallpaper for icons, you start deleting shortcuts you don't often use or dump them in folders on the desktop, or some other location and, over time, the natural entropy of the Universe and your own need to do stuff WITH your computer rather than spend time organising it conspire to make you wish for an easier way.

Hi,
I have an old Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 that has been a problem since day one.
I have turned it in for repair twise, but they could not find any problems.

The problems seems to me, like some sort of bad cable connection. Colors change and is not usable. If i twist or bend the tablet it sometimes goes back to normal..
Pictures shows how the colors change..

How do I re-install memo on Galaxy S7

From new (December 2016) my S7 would not sync the memo app. Everything else was fine. Forum searches showed this to be a common problem. (when synchronising the memo icon would show a red marker and message to say "Synchronising having technical difficulties and will be back soon"). Advice from other forum users suggested removing the app and re-installing. Removing the app was easy - however I cannot find it again to re-install. Could someone provide me with the answer?

Text and picture issues

Hello to all you regulars. This is my first ever posts.

So, my phone is only two years old.

For about 7 months I have been having text issues. There are times it won't open to a contact, or it won't let me type my message, or if I type it shows up as double text, or it will open, I click the text box, it freezes, closes, reopens....ugh. With an anxious daughter sometimes she panics if I don't answer fast enough...not to mention my boss!! There are times it can take over 5 mins before I can actually get a text out.:-

The second issue I have is that occasionally when I take a picture it shuts my phone down completely. So completely that I actually have to take the battery out to get it to turn back on.

It seems to me these are two technical issues that should be easily remedied, but you know if I take it in they will tell me I need to buy a new one. :-$

Can anyone help?

I have recently moved from iPhone to Android and hoping someone could tell me an equivalent to itunes. I would like to be able to plug in a USB and sync my contacts and calendar to Outlook as I could with iTunes. So that is add contacts and calendar from Android to Outlook on a PC and reverse. And also have the option to do a complete backup of my phone. Is there a free software that does this? Thanks in advance.

I have a Droid Turbo that just upgraded to version 6.0.1, and as a result I can no longer separately control my ring volume and notification volume. I am on call at night and need to be able to receive phone calls but do NOT want to be notified when I get a text. I have no problem with turning off my wifi and data usage at night to eliminate other notifications, but how do I turn off the text notification volume while leaving my phone ringer on?

Overview: Battery info app with the manual voltage calibration.

It is actual for the device with a problem built-in battery info driver, showing wrong charge level. If your system indicator shows the battery charge OK - you do not need this app, no need to make negative review.

This utility can:
* get system's present voltage info of the battery (if the system returns it, it must be 4-digit value in milliVolts, usually 3400...4200, some device cannot do it)
* save the Max battery voltage you enter manually (when it's fully charged for sure)
* save the Min battery voltage you enter manually (when battery is just alive, discharged, say - just after switching on)
* calculate the battery charge % accoring to these voltage levels and show it
* notify, if battery (calculated) is getting low, and when is almost discharged (and must be pugged in for power source as soon as possible)
* save every hour battery charge statistics and show the graf chart
* optional auto-saving the min and max voltage, if it's smaller or exeeds the current voltage
* controlling the battery temperature
* shows average battery charge level, for several minutes (not moment)
* send data by email periodically: for remote controlling temperature. Calibration is possible - battery is several (3-4 degrees) hotter compared with room ambient temperature when Android is idle, and extra 3-4 degrees hotter when Android is powered up, charging. So some number can be deducted as the calibration value before sending.
NOTE: SMTP email server is stored encripted.

NOTE: only Max and Min levels are correct, the linear calculated % values may differ from system's or other app's battery info, it's not a bug.

New added for paid version: discharge speed (% per hour) calculation and the text alert, if exceeds the limit (option).
If charging from a power adapter - the value is negative.

Alarm minimal charge level is 40%, it is 5% after the registration (in-app billing payment by Google Wallet).

So, step-by-step:
1) Charge the device battery fully for sure (3-5 hours)
2) Start the application and make sure that the Present voltage is 4-digit value
3) Set the Max voltage by "Set present voltage" button under it
4) Set the Min voltage around 3200 mV or leave the default
5) Save the settings
6) Use the device until it switched off
7) Start charging and switch the device on and set now the Min voltage to the Present one
8)Save setting and try using your device checking the charge level.

why does Galaxy s6 music shuffle button does not work, cannot switch it off

Every time my music is updated on Galaxy S6 the shuffle button doesn't work. I cannot stop my music being played to me randomly. I can get round it by uninstalling updates in the Application Manager in settings but I have to do this three times a week. I have worked as a programmer and amazed that this problem is never fixed.

On the LG, you can click the icon for wide angle or normal. But I don't see anything in between. I really love the wide angle--which is probably more important for what I like to do, but is there way to go 2x, 3x, etc.?

I notice that when I turn on the hotspot feature on the Mate 9, other devices connected to the Mate 9 can access internet, but the Mate 9 itself can no longer connect to the Internet at all. Can anyone else confirm if this is only me or a software glitch? Thanks.

Is there any way to use it only for offline and locally? It seems to require me to be logged in, synced, and backed up to Drive. I don't need/want those unnecessary features.

Chrome redirecting to shady sites.

It's happening to me more and more frequently. I thought it was specifically Android Authority's site because that was the only time I used to see it. Now I see it for Android Police as well. I believe it's a Chrome specific issue because I've been using Firefox all day yesterday and had no issues. I tried Chrome again today and got it multiple times within minutes. I try to use everything Google (if available) and would like to stay with Chrome. Has anyone experienced this and know a possible fix?

Samsung w/marshmallow 6.0 adoptable interior storage

Will adopting an SD card as internal storage increase the number of apps that will be available for download to SD as interior storage versus just using an app manager and moving them to SD card as ext storage? I am considering adopting an SD card as internal storage to increase the number of apps I can place on it rather than the devices own internal flash drive but I have also used an app manager to move apps while the card is external storage and if the manager is just as efficient as adopting I'd rather just keep the SD card as external storage. Does the adoption allow for more lenient rules for moving apps in the developers eyes when they code their android:installlocation?

The Always On Display is always enabled and always showed the missed call icon when i receive calls

Now this icon disappears and i have to open the cover case and unlock the phone to check whether i have missed calls or not

How can I retrieve it back

I have set up some screen scanning that I had to assign to a key and can't get rid of it now. I assigned it to the volume up key. When I press the volume up button I get blue frames jumping over the screen. But it doesn't scan anything. I actually am now not sure what I set up. Does anybody know what I can do?

I don't know if this issue is isolated to me or the g5 but I've been getting random screen overlays from a previous screen. The overlay will persist for a random but long amount of time and will even pop up on the start up screen. I've already done factory reset to no avail. Fyi I'm on nougat.

i have samsung galaxy s3 mini gt-i8190 vietnam it won't boot up and can't enter into recovery mode but the download mode works then i tried to flashed it to official firmware because the the previous firmware was corrupted in phone then i connect phone with my pc the odin shows add message then i load pda file on odin then click on start button it starts the process after process complete the odin shows pass message but my phone just reboots not showing android logo and the boot up problem continues

What can I do to fix it?
Can I Force Stop apps I'm not currently using?
How do I enable an app I have Force Stopped?

Overview: AquaMail is an email app for Internet and Exchange mail, for Android 4.0.3 and higher.
Easy automatic setup for popular email services:
Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, FastMail, Apple mail services (@me.com / @mac.com), GMX, AOL, and more. Recognizes mail accounts hosted at Google Apps, Yahoo BizMail, and others.

Description
Works with many other email services via standard Internet email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP).
IMAP push mail (instant incoming email delivery) for those servers that support the IDLE extension (Gmail, GMX, AOL not supported by Yahoo).
Microsoft Exchange is supported via IMAP or EWS:
Exchange (EWS) accounts provide access to server side contacts (personal and global, with search), and Calendar sync. Recognizes mail accounts hosted at Office 365 and Exchange Online.
Plays well with other email apps that you may be using to access your IMAP or EWS mailbox. Uses existing folder structure, can synchronize drafts, sent, and deleted messages.
Widgets (message counts, message list).
Swiping in message list (actions) and between messages.
Can save attachments as files.
Message auto-fit (like in Gmail).
Rich text formatting when writing messages (including embedding images, in the signature too).
Android Wear (4.3+).
OAUTH2 for Gmail (Google's preferred, "more secure" authentication method).
Integration with Tasker (change settings, trigger mail check, message based events).
Integration with Light Flow, Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, Cloud Print, Apex Launcher Pro, Nova Launcher / Tesla Unread, Executive Assistant, DashClock Widget.
Lots of settings to configure the application just the way *you* would like. Separate settings for WiFi and mobile connections.
Backup and restore of app and account settings via Dropbox, OneDrive, Box.com, Google Drive.
This is the Lite version, which is limited to two accounts, no identities, and adds a promo signature to all outgoing messages with a link to the program's web site.
You can add more than two accounts, use identites, and remove the promo signature by purchasing the Pro Unlocker app here on Play.
