It's been a while since I wrote here about TreeSize, so it's about time I covered the latest version of the program.

TreeSize is a fantastic program which shows you the sizes of all the folders on your computer's disk. Choose any drive or folder, then drill down through them in order to find out which folders are taking the most space. It's a simple, quick way to work out why your computer is running out of space, and it's also useful for tracking down folders that are no longer needed and which can thus be deleted.

It's always good to clear out your disk regularly. Windows doesn't like running on almost-full drives. And if you're in the habit of doing regular backups, clearing out unwanted files will reduce the time that your backups take to complete. And it'll reduce the size of your backups too, which could save you money if you use a cloud-based service.

Getting Not Enough Storage Space Error

I have recently come into this problem with my LG. I have a 64GB Sd card installed and it supports up to 256gb storage card.

I have 21.58gb used of 32gb and my SanDisk 64gb SD card has 23.13gb of 59.45gb used. It doesn't matter what I try to move, even super small mount it says not enough storage space.

I've looked online and have tried all suggestions. When I first got the micro SD slot I formatted it in my computer and then put it into my phone.

Is this a limitation in Marshmallow OS? Or is there a work around I have not come across yet? I've tried to clear all app caches and nothing works. Obviously I do have enough room to transfer more apps.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

trouble backing up phone due to USB port

Shop taking phone to be repaired as intermittent charging problem just got even worse. They've advised I back up and I've gone to use kies but the intermittent problem with the USB cable seems to extend to connecting my phone to my pc where I can't back up. Help! Any other ideas to back up contacts and diary, maybe through Bluetooth?

Verizon Fios Mobile app

I can cast on the TV but when I try and play the Fios app it only shows a black screen and sound. It seems like the Fios Mobile app is blocking screen casting on the TV. Is there anyway around this?

Hi. I'm trying to use Helium to backup my Samsung Galaxy S5 before doing a reset on the phone. I have installed the app on the phone and on the PC (Windows 7) as well as the driver Helium suggests in its opening window. And have connected them by USB cable of course. But the phone is stuck on "Waiting for the Helium Desktop application to enable application backup on your Android..."

The phone's OS is 5.1.1

The lack of privacy is a major problem on the internet. People can, and do, manage to track and monitor what you're doing. Sometimes these people are advertisers and large companies, while other times they're hackers and criminals.

If you want the ultimate in online privacy, check out a system called Tails. The full name of the product is The Amnesic Incognito Live System, which gives some useful clues as to what it does. Amnesic because, after you've finished using it, it deletes all traces of itself and the memory it used. Incognito because it uses the Tor network to ensure that all of your web browsing activity is pretty much untraceable and anonymous. And Live System because, rather than an installable product, Tails is a complete bootable operating system which you run from a USB stick or DVD disk, perform whatever you need to do, then reboot back into your familiar (and less anonymous) Windows environment.

You can download Tails for free but be aware that it's an 1,100 MB download so it may take some time. You'll end up with a .ISO file which you'll need to burn to a DVD disc or a USB stick. You then boot from that device straight into Tails.

Tails is based on Linux and, as well as the anonymous web browser, includes a relatively full set of other features too. There's an office software suite, for example, if you need to create documents in complete privacy. Of course, you'll lose those documents when you exit Tails, but there's the option of creating an encrypted Persistent Disk area of a USB stick to which you can safely export them in encrypted form.

Tails really is the ultimate in online privacy, and has been used worldwide by some high-profile activists and campaigners. While it may be unnecessary for most people (thankfully!), it's a fascinating product. And because it runs independently of your existing operating system, it's very easy to download, play with, and then discard.

Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch and Fleksy

I just got my son's Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch and installed Fleksy so I could text on it. When I click on it on my watch all I get is a black screen. Can someone tell me what might be happening or if I did something wrong? Fleksy shows up in My Apps on my Gear Manager. Thanks!

Urbane 2 - 3 attempts and AT&T plus me never got one working.....

Just spent several days with AT&T and just now the past day in their location and none of us were able to get the Urbane 2 to function fully on a remote connection. Nothing but the cloud with a line through it.

Even the employee of the store who has owned one from March and admitted was frustrated with what he thought was spotty connection was unable to get his to work.

Two new units, the live display unit and the one with the employee and none of them were able to function.

Very disappointing. Tried everything including replacing the sim card that comes pre-loaded. No-go.

We left the local LG rep a message as he frequents the stores but will wait to see if he can show me one that will work live. If so, i"ll but that one. Until then, I'm out. Sad day.

How do I make my Samsung Galaxy s7 read out incoming calls?

Looking for slideshow widget to shuffle across all images

Requirements:
- able to display all images on the device, or images in folder(s) with subfolders
- on click opens default image app
- supports 3x2 size
- preferably no frame; no transitions
- preferably support for custom interval

I had this kind of widget among stock apps on my previous Samsung Galaxy Mega, but there's sadly no such widget on my new device

Currently the best option I found is "Photo Frame&Grid Widget" - the only problem is that it doesn't show images from subfolders, have to manually scan across all the folders and place a check-mark at each subfolder.

When I delete messages from my Gear S2, they randomly also are deleted from my phone??

My MMS messages and regular messages are sometimes, but not always, removed from my phone when I delete them from my watch. It doesn't always do this - just very randomly. I've had multiple issues with my Gear ever since I got it and have gone to 2 different At&t stores and had several techs working with me to try to figure things out. One tech said I had to have my messages set to "backup and sync" in order for the messages to go to my phone. I'm wondering if this is the problem?? Another tech told me that was not true and to disable that. When I tried to disable, I got a "warning" that doing so would prevent any messages being sent to a "wearable". I love the concept of the Gear - but not so much if it isn't going to work right :(. Any help or suggestions would sure be appreciated. TIA

So, I had the lemon of lemons for a G2. I wanted to shoot it, I really did. But I had to have something till upgrade time. So I installed 5.11 and then CM13 Marshmallow. And guess what? it's actually usable now. No delays or hang ups. Ever. It's like a new phone that actually works. There are a couple minor issues in that there seems to be a few UI functions missing. The original G2 had a handy little icon on the bottom right that would bring the status bar down instead of having to swipe it down. Not necessary but very convenient. In fact, there were four or five icons at the very bottom and they were totally selectable. Now there are only three and they are somewhat selectable. The double tap function only works to turn the display on. It won't turn it off. And I can't seem to find the setting that lets my main screen and app menus wrap around or change the page style. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough.
Anyway, I don't feel the need to put a bullet through it anymore. Thank you, CM13! But I'm still going back to a Samsung device when I can.

Replacement Battery for Verizon Note 3

I need to replace the battery in my Note 3. Neither Samsung nor Verizon offer an OEM replacement. I recently tried one from Cellular Outfitters but the best I can say is that it is very erratic at holding a charge.

Any suggestions?

I used the actual phone today to talk to someone. Usually I talk thru a headset or thru the car speakers. I never had a volume issue. When in the call today, i thought the other person was on speaker phone. The call was very faint. i pushed the extra volume icon and it barely increased. The volume is all the way up on the phone. Is this a defect or is there a way to fix it? I've only had my phone for maybe 2 weeks.

I have a Samsung galaxy s4 and It works fine do need to wifi. But I can barely ever use it when on the go. I have plenty of data (I'm actually at my limit as to how much I can save up) but when I try to open apps that need wifi or data connection they won't work. Or even searching the Internet. But I can make calls and texts. It's driving me insane.

When the phone gets hot i get a error that the sim card is removed. If i restart phone it works for a minute then it comes up again. The only way to fix is to take out battery and let it cool down. It happens several times more on a hot day. It is extremely inconvenient and very annoying.

Bought a new s7 (T-mobile) off swappa to use with consumer cellular. Started phone, connected to my s5 and synced contacts messages ect. S7 starts crashing every 5 min. I did a factory reset. Now when I start it up it says I need to sign in with my google account. I do, it says "checking info" and then takes me back to the screen that says this device was reset, log in with previous google account. I don't even have a sim card in it yet. What can I do?

Play store creating new shortcuts on new Home Screen

Hey guys

I have a nice new Nexus 5X. 6.0.1

However I have a small issue with it.

I tend to only have a single homepage with shortcuts and folders but every time I install a new app from the store the shortcut is appearing on a brand new homepage, this is annoying me!

Anyone any ideas to get the shortcuts to appear on the single homepage?

There is plenty of space for new icons on my single page I do not know why it is making a new page to add shortcuts?

So i wanted to download an apk file from an unkown source on my galaxy s5. But when it was finished i clicked the file and it asked if i wanted to install it. Then, i clicked the install button on the bottom right but it didnt register so i spammed it and nothing is happening.

As result of update my custom ringtones are no longer accepted, in the "Storage" setting I can only see my total internal storage, but not any breakout and in the Application setting I no longer have the option of placing my apps on my SD card, which means I will soon max out my internal storage. Ideas?
