Here's a great alternative to the standard Windows file explorer. It features twin panes, so you can easily move and copy files between 2 locations. There are lots of other useful features too, such as the way it automatically highlights files that were created or modified today (as shown by the green bar in the screen shot below).

The program is called Multi Commander and it was updated a couple of weeks ago. It's a 9 MB download that's malware-free according to VirusTotal and Web of Trust.
