Why am I getting a false "unable to connect to network" message on start up? Posted: 13 Aug 2016 02:16 PM PDT I have a Samsung S6. After I did a software update, I get this message on start up "Unable to connect to network, check connection setting and try again" But my phone still connects to wifi and I'm still able to get to the internet on my mobile network. Everything seems to be working properly, but not sure why I keep getting this message on start up. Any thoughts??? |

Battery drains when phone is in use and not in use (Galaxy S5) Posted: 13 Aug 2016 02:09 PM PDT This all began to happen around a month ago. My phone always used to charge perfectly, no drain, on off, used or not. Now, I don't know what has happened recently, but now my phone charges at a slow rate (+5-10% in like 10-20 minutes when off), stays at a static battery percentage when on ( Stays on 5% for like 30 minutes then drops to 4%, whilst charging), and drains normally when being used. I've tried switching the plugs, the wires, so much so that I bought 2 new chargers, and it keeps occuring! I think it's a problem with my actual phone, as I've tried charging it on multiple sockets but with no avail. Can somebody please help me? Buying a new phone isn't in my budget. |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 02:08 PM PDT So the Note 7 came out, and I am a huge fan of the new software. Especially the device manager and messaging app. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about if/when there will be an update for the S7 edge that brings the Note 7 software to this phone. In the mean time, I've heard about apks and such that I could install to have this. Could somebody give me a step by step process and links on where to download in order to do this? I have the Verizon S7 edge, not rooted. |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 02:04 PM PDT To be honest, I'm not sure if this topic has been covered. But I'd thought I would ask anyways. I know the S7 and S7 Edge had the liquid cooling. So did the Note 7 adopt this as well and it's just not being mentioned since it isn't really a new option? |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:59 PM PDT Anyone know where it is? S6 got it, havent seen anuthing about s7 yet Posted via the Android Central App |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:57 PM PDT Hi guys. I have had every single Note from 1 to 5 the same week of release. However, I will be skipping the 7. I have played with the phone on 4 different occasions and each time I come out underwhelmed. I am not saying that the Note 5 is better than the 7, that would be ignorant of the facts. I do think that the 5 feels more solid and seems to be better constructed as I can almost see between the seams of the 7. The 7 also feels a bit like plastic as opposed to glass. The S pen that most said now feels like a real pen is actually even thinner and actually feels less of a real pen to me. Even though the tip is slimmer, to me, it's too slim as I don't know any normal pens with a top that skinny. The speed and feel when you write feels no faster or different to me. I actually prefer the pen on the 5. I could go on and on. But to summarize my thoughts, I think that the Note 7 is seriously overrated and not that much of an upgrade, at least for me. For instance, I have never water damaged my phone in 17 years of cell phone ownership. The fingerprint scanner is faster and more practical than the Iris scanner. Bigger battery but it will still suck, especially after a few months..Suffice it to say that I will be keeping my 5 and after trying to like the 7, I feel that much better about my choice. I am by no means here to spoil everyone's excitement, as there is obviously an abundance of it. I am just a bit curious if I am the only one who have made these observations or feel this way. I doesn't help that I am pissed at Samsung for intentionally gimping the Note 5 on battery and storage to sell the 7, as well as forcing us to deal with a curved screen. Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:50 PM PDT thinking about pre-ordering the Galaxy Note 7. I currently have an S4 and need a new phone. Price is exorbitant but wondered how long I'd have to wait before I might save some money on it. Any thoughts? |
why my LG G2 suddenly shut down and didn't turn on again Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:45 PM PDT suddenly my LG G2 shut down and after that i tried to make it on but nothing happened. i need to turn it one again. i am very gently with my phone since 1.5 year ago |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:41 PM PDT I played with the Note 7 in Best Buy which seems like it isn't a carrier branded version. Today I tried the Verizon version in a store and saw they seem to have made two changes. 1) The settings menu is the same as on the Note 5 and isn't the nicely designed one you see in the Samsung demos or intro video. I get why they do this but it's frustrating. 2) I couldn't find an icon for a stand alone video player. The only way I saw to play videos was from the gallery. I must be wrong about this but I looked in the app drawer and all home screens and couldn't find it. The first one is frustrating but really only at an intellectual level since it doesn't actually change anything. Annoying that Verizon always has to muck with the design. people who have not got tracking numbers yet thread Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:26 PM PDT Making this thread for those of us who have not relieved a tracking number, or have been notified that are phones are ready to ship. |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:24 PM PDT Just got this from Verizon. Was not sure what it was since the text said the order was received today and it had a different number than my Note 7 pre-order number but yes, it is the Note 7 with its official order number. The rep on the phone could not tell when I would be getting it since there are no tracking numbers yet. Let's hope before Friday. :-* Free VZW Msg: Your order # was received on 08/13/2016. You'll receive a text message with tracking information when your order ships. |
Posted: 13 Aug 2016 01:23 PM PDT Just picked up my moto z force and so far I love it. Was curious though would it hurt the phone if I used a charger from my Nexus 6p? Or doesn't that matter with this phone. Thanks in advance. |
