Why does only part of my Samsung Galaxy s5's screen work? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:21 PM PDT I've had a Samsung Galaxy s5 for over a year now. However, about 2 months ago it stopped turning on and was completely unresponsive to anything. I eventually sent it in to get fixed, but the people fixing it didn't even do anything other than tell me that the motherboard was fried. I got my phone back a couple days ago and decided to fix it myself because I don't have money to send it in anywhere. What I've done, is that I got the same exact phone (and model) from someone else. Their screen is cracked and doesn't work, but everything else should work. I took off my phone screen (with LCD display) and the screen from the other phone. Absolutely nothing is wrong with any of the wires or the phone screen that I put onto the newer phone, as far as I can tell. However, everytime I boot up the phone, only half of the screen responds to touch, I've tried reconnecting the screen to the phone multiple times, and get different results, but none fully fixing the problem e.g. the top half works, 2/3 of the screen works, or the top half works and one small section below works but between the top half and the other section the screen won't respond. I have absolutely no idea if it's a wiring problem, an LCD problem or if Satan has just decided to possess my phone to mess with me :/ |
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:20 PM PDT So my G5 is a T-Mobile. I had an issue and left T-Mobile. It was still under a 2 year contract. With that being said, can I still buy one if the sim unlock services and use another carrier or a prepaid carrier? Does the 2 year contract have any bearing on the situation? Thanks |

Any hints as tips for making the move over? I have an SD card in the G1 and I'm hoping to make better use of it as adaptable storage in the new phone which is 8 gb Suggestions from more knowledgeable people much appreciated! Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:09 PM PDT FYI for those of us who live in colder climates. (From the Honor 8 manual) Enable gloves mode so that you can continue to use your phone when wearing gloves. Open Settings, and then touch Smart assistance > Gloves mode. |

When the screen is off, point your phone at a subject and press the volume down button twice. Your phone will take a photo and display how fast it was captured. |

S7 doesn't register SD card after OTA update Posted: 11 Sep 2016 01:49 PM PDT Hi, anyone has this problem after the last OTA update? (G930FXXU1BPHB). After the update, my phone no longer registers my SD card. It doesn't notice if I take it out or put it in, with or without a reboot. SD card worked fine before the update so I'm sure it works. |

Spigen Customer Service - Appalling Posted: 11 Sep 2016 01:45 PM PDT So for the last 2 years I've always been ordering Spigen cases/screen protectors for every single phone that I've owned and I change phones every 2 months so that's a lot of cases / screen protectors that I've bought. Recently, Spigen has started to trick customers (at least that's how I see it) by displaying items that are not available and it says in a small fine print on the right that it will be available in around 10 business days (or more in some cases) So the first time it was with the Note 7, I ordered a case and a screen protector and applied a $20 USD discount by using my reward points. 2 days later I noticed that my order isn't moving, so upon contacting them, they said that my order has been back ordered as the case is not available yet and would require another 15 days or so..... so I canceled my order and got it from Amazon delivered ot my house in 48 hours! go figure! They refunded my process but they cannot refund the reward points which I used for the discount so that was my first $20 USD loss..... I emailed them telling them that if they look into my order history, they would see that I am a loyal customer and do something about it but they didn't even bother replying.... now the same exact thing happened with my Galaxy S7, seems like the glass screen protector wasn't available and they won't ship 1 item only even though they had the case in stock, so as I wasn't ready to wait for another 10 business days, I canceled the order and again, I got it from Amazon. Heh.... I again lost my $20 USD reward points that I used as a discount and I emailed them telling them that they lost my business forever due to this as they are tricking customers to place orders and pay for items that aren't even available! why put it? or at least make it more obvious that it's not available! I told them that I am very disappointed and they lost my business forever......no one cares, they processed the refund and closed the case. this is customer service at its worst. Never again buying anything from Spigen |
