Tablets are completely useless and pointless!! Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:46 PM PDT Now we use our 5.1 to 6 inches smartphones every single day as our computers and of course laptops and desktops for heavy duty work like video editing, 3D work if neaded but there is tablets like the iPad and Android tablets which they are only giant smartphones with out the calling feature. I use to love tablets and was a huge fan of them and they was my main computer but my opinion has completely changed about tablets after I got my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone that has a amazing 5.1 inche display and have been using it for over a week now and it is a beast of a smartphone haha!! :D :D Now I don't really think tablets especially the iPads, Android tablets are not that good anymore because they are just like my Galaxy S6 but just have a bigger screen and set it and they don't offer tablet features that is not available on there smartphone counterparts or anything different. And there are lots of people(including me) that thought tablets are the future and will kill the Laptop and desktop but as it turns out so far it seems completely the opposite way round the laptops are killing the tablets and by that I means hybrids(just basically glorified laptops) Surface Pro 4, Acer Alpha Switch 12 and HP Spectre X2 and lots more and many more people are buying hybrids to replace there old tablets(rather then replacing with a newer tablet) and sales figures from sales reporters like IDC proves that and the tablet sales including the iPad are declining just like netbooks did and usage of iPads are going down as well, So People are using there tablets less and less and not buying them which it is terrible news for the tablet market and tablets manufacturers like Apple/Samsung/LG/Google more. And to make things 20 times worse so far this year in 2016 big tablet makers like Samsung, Sony and Google haven't announced and released there high end/flagship tablets yet, not surprised tbh, they will never be able to make money out of them anymore and I am sure Apple will abandon there iPads in the future because of the poor terrible sales and the people are not buying and using them anymore. And all so it does not help that tablet makers like Samsung, HP, Lenovo are focusing making hybrids just glorified laptops with a ability to use it as a tablet) like the Surface Pro 4 then stand along/pure tablets like the iPad, a Galaxy Tab S2, Things are definitely looking terrible for the tablet market. So after getting my Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone and been using it for just over a week now, After 3/4 years of using giant smartphones(tablets), I won't be using them anymore and I will just buy a laptop and use my smartphone Galaxy S6 in the future. In my honest opinion about giant smartphones(tablets), I think tablets are completely useless, crap and pointless because the phones we have are good enough and big enough and still very portable and on the other hand laptops are very portable and very powerful which tablets like the iPad and Android tablets will never have that appeal anymore and hopefully due to the declining sales tablets will definitely become obsolete just like the netbooks did a few years ago!!! I really hope tablets like the huge IPhone(oops I mean the iPad) and Android tablets die and disappear in the future just like netbooks did(a few years ago). Anyone think tablets are completely useless and pointless now?? Do you agree or disagree?? And who wants my iPad Air 2 haha?? :D :D |

Wi-Fi calling broken, after using Avast Battery Saver Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:12 PM PDT There is a LOT of information here, so please bare with me. Router details Name: Belkin N600DB Wireless Router Model: F9K1102 v3 (01) Firmware: 3.04.06 (Mar 17, 2014) (LATEST!) Boot Loader: v0.12 Intellistream: OFF 2GHz Band: ON (Channel 11) Bandwidth: 20/40Mhz Wireless mode: 802.11 b/g/n SSID Broadcast: ON 5GHz band: OFF Firewall: ON (Disabling this has no effect) IPv4: Working normally IPv6: Pass-Through (ISP natively supports IPv6, and cannot be disabled in router) DMZ: Disabled DHCP Server: Enabled WPS: Enabled Wireless Security: WPA2-PSK Parental Control: OFF Phone Information Model Name: LG Leon LTE Model Number: LGMS345 Carrier: MetroPCS Android Version: 5.1.1 Root access: Not rooted IP Type: DHCP (IP address obtained successfully for both IPv4, and IPv6) Symptoms: A connection with my router causes the phone to have internet, but no wi-fi calling. Occassionally, the phone will tell me that I have no internet, and then it automatically switches to mobile data. Usually the error message I receive when this happens is something along the lines of "No internet on [wi-fi name]" and then the phone switches to mobile data. When did symptoms begin? When I installed Avast Battery Saver Error Messages: Enabling wi-fi calling on the above network results in the following error - Error: REG99 "Unable to connect" Did it ever work? Originally it worked fine for a day or two, (even made some wi-fi calls on the above network, so I know it was working), until I installed the Avast Battery Saver app, then I would get the message wi-fi calling wasn't available, including the above error message, and the wifi would drop out intermittently, until it just stopped working. At that point, my phone was telling me that it was not getting an IP address from the router. (eg. IP address unavailable) Setting a static IP address worked to get internet, but wi-fi calling was still broken. Returning to DHCP resulted in an unavailable IP address again. I uninstalled the Avast Battery Saver app, before I performed the factory reset. Uninstalling, and then reset did not restore wi-fi calling for this network, but seems to have otherwise restored wi-fi internet access on this network. Do other devices work properly on the same network? Yes! All of them do! I have various devices on my network that include the following: Netgear Wireless G Router (isolated wireless access point for connecting infected devices to the internet for cleaning) Win10 Desktop (x2) Win10 Laptop (x2, wireless) Mac AppleAir Apple Time Capsule (wireless radio is off) Linux Desktop PS3 (x2) Apple iPhone Samsung Smart TV (x2) Samsung Android Phone Things I've tried: Factory reset - fixed the unavailable IP address problem, but not wi-fi calling, which resulted in current symptoms. Disable/enable Wi-Fi on phone - no changes Modify Network - static IP address resolved no internet before reset, but resulted in no wi-fi calling (Error REG99 "Unable to connect") Have not tried this step since resetting Try a different network - Wi-Fi calling works on other networks Connect to isolated Wireless G - Same results Switch to Mobile Data - Mobile data works fine! Issue is with Wi-Fi on the above network Any suggestions, or ideas on how to fix this would be great! Thanks in advance! |
Google confirms Verizon will handle updates Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:08 PM PDT So according to "9 to 5 Google", Google has confirmed that Verizon branded Pixel phones will get updates from the carrier and Google will only handle security updates. |
If true, are you still interested in this phone at $830? Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:07 PM PDT I can't justify spending that much money on a phone. I don't care if it's split into monthly payments at no interest, I just can't do it. I was hoping for a price of $700. I'm still hoping this $830 price is wrong. At a lower price, LG would be winning over everyone unhappy with the Pixel pricing and anyone unhappy with a ticking time bomb. If you're going to pass, like I will if this price proves to be true, what phone would you have eyes on? I think I'll have to decide between the Moto Z Play or OnePlus 3 or maybe the standard Moto Z, even though I hate the chin and how small its battery is. Nothing else out there has really caught my eye. I love LG phones, but not for that much. |
Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:06 PM PDT Its already been said the pixel will support wifi calling but will it support other Tmob features present or upcoming band 12 aws-3 new 256QAM, triple-carrier aggregation LTE network |
My Samsung S6 has just started to default to speaker phone when either dialling or answering? Posted: 06 Oct 2016 01:02 PM PDT My phone now automatically defaults to speaker phone when either calling or answering. Very annoying and i can't work out how to dtop this in settings. |
Posted: 06 Oct 2016 12:55 PM PDT This is an outside image I just took... the problem I have is that there is a distinct line where the two lenses sync.. I know this is natural but the lens facing the sun creates a hazed image .... I do some work for a local car dealer and when I've used the gear 360 inside a car the hazed effect is very noticeable due to lighting differences from the front to the back seats. The results detract from the vehicle and are not usable. In many instances I have to keep the lens pointed a certain direction. Any advice? I don't notice this problem at all with my Ricoh Theta S. gear360image1a.jpg |
