Hotspot option missing from my Samsung Galaxy Note4

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 01:38 PM PDT

Hi guys,

I am currently using Samsung Galaxy Note 4 unlocked (original carrier Sprint). I just recently noticed that I do not have option to enable hotspot. I mean no where in my phone I can find hotspot.

Also, I am unable to get 4G on it and I am sure the phone does have 4G on it but I guess that is also disabled.

Can anyone help me, what I need to do to make these work.

Thanks!

Moto G3

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 01:20 PM PDT

have the G3 with 6.0..For some obscure reason, I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. I didn't find anything special so I unrooted.
That's when the problems started.
I have done a factory reset a few times but still can't get past the no command screen in recovery mode.
If I do a hard reset and uncheck the Google backup and restore, which does restore, well by the way, and reset, will this actually completely restore to original 6.0?
If I do it this way, will I still be able to do the auto restore from a previous Google backup?

Would the hard reset restore it to its original state?

Any help would be most appreciated.

thanks..

Can anyone explain to me why there are still so many Note 7 phones for sale on eBay as of today?

Can anyone explain to me why there are still so many Note 7
phones for sale on eBay as of today? (from highly reputable
sellers... even ones I've dealt with in the past)

For the life of me, I can't guess why anyone is still selling
them?(more important.. buying them?)

Thanks!

Android 7, for when?

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 01:03 PM PDT

Hi,

I just received the October patch, shouldn't I get the android 7 update on my Nexus 6 as well?
I read somewhere the it would come at the same time as the security patch.

Name the Note 8

I would be surprised if Samsung would continue to use the name NOTE due to the stigma attached to it. So what would you name the next version of the Note?

How many are switching from N7 to Iphone 7 Plus?

With a lot of Note users ticked off about the likely second recall, how many of you are simply going to the iPhone 7 Plus now? Is it a big downgrade?

No HD Voice option on AT&T

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 12:44 PM PDT

I just realized during my phone call that I am now lacking HD voice since leaving my s7 on AT&T. I looked under Cellular Networks and there is no HD voice listed so I am going to assume it is not available with AT&T. I believe it works with T-Mobile though.

Big bummer! Anyone have any news on this? Will it ever be available to the OP3 on AT&T?

EDIT: I see there is a thread already on this

S5 not getting texts onger than 46 char.

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 12:42 PM PDT

Wife has an S5 I have iPhone 6s. She CANNOT get messages from Me or our daughters iPhone either if they are longer than 46 characters. It doesn't matter if I turn off iMessage or not. And this has persisted since my older phone which was an iPhone 5s.

It is abviously the galaxy but we cannot figure it out. She has updated, rebooted, turned on and off settings, reset networks etc. nothing fixes this.

It used to do the thing where it would split longer messages into several parts. But now it just straight up won't receive the message. But if we use chat apps like whatsapp or Line, I can type to my hearts content whoever long I want and she will get it.

So it's to do with the standard messenger app. Anyone have a clue?

Difficulties with Samsung Galaxy S7

Posted: 10 Oct 2016 12:39 PM PDT

HI. Have been using Cell phones for many years. My wife and I upgrade to new units, not used, every 2 or three years. We obtained two brand new Samsung S7's in July, 2016. Had Samsung S5's for about two years. The new cells seem to work sporadically. We can be emailing or texting, they suddenly will not work, seem to lose the signal, then it will come back on a short time later. When telephoning, seems to dial then lose the connection. Since obtaining the new cells, our data has shot up and we have been charged for data over usage. We have never had overage previously and this is when we were using the previous cells more in a business atmosphere.

Overall, the new phones seem to be having a lot of difficulties. Would this be a problem for others, or did we simply hit two dud phones at the same time. (Since the new phone in July 2016. My S7 stopped working. Checked it out with Roger Technical support and their storefront. They exchanged my new cell for a refurbished - would not replace it with a new one, the refurbished cell S7 seems to have all the same problems as the original cell). There seems to be more reasons to believe the cells are not working properly, than for it not to be a problem.

Any thoughts?
