Facebook video call

Posted: 22 Oct 2016 01:05 PM PDT

I can't seem to video call on messenger. When I try to video chat with a friend it comes up at their end that I have my camera switched off. I have checked my camera settings and everything looks OK unless I am missing something. Can anyone offer any answers or solutions.

V20 vs Pixel XL display brightness

Posted: 22 Oct 2016 12:59 PM PDT

Has anyone looked at the displays side by side? We don't have the V20 yet in Canada so was hoping someone in the US has. The XL is brighter than the N7 and S7E but slightly less than the IP7 Plus based on my observations. Curious about the V20 though.

Something really untoward has happened with my nexus 6p. I noticed that without warning my phone reset itself. Not only that, I couldn't call out or anything. The phone said i could only make emergency calls. I powered my phone off and then turned it back on and everything went back to normal. what the heck? its the weirdest thing. is my phone hacked?

ZeroLemon S7 7500mah Battery Case Review

Posted: 22 Oct 2016 12:31 PM PDT

So I have been using this ZeroLemon battery case for a few days. The packaging is pretty simple, just a plastic bag with a cardboard box inside, and the case is bubble wrapped. When I first hold it in my hand without, it feels kind of light, but when I put my S7 in, it feels pretty heavy and thick. My friend that saw this case said that it looks like a brick since its thick and square. I definitely won't use this case everyday since it adds a lot of bulk, but if I know I will be gone from home for more than 12 hours, this is definitely very useful. I tried to charge my S7 from 0 to 100 percent. It takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes, which is pretty good since quick charging with the original power brick is around 1.5 hours.

Quickcharge pass through is one of the reason why I got this case, this basically means that when you charge the case with your phone using the original fast charging brick, the phone will do a fast charging while the case is charging at a normal charging speed. The other small things I like about the case is the ruggedness, this ZeroLemon case is much more rugged compared to a normal battery case that have a smaller capacity. The outer part of the case is rubber and this case also has a raised lip for screen drop protection, its no Otterbox defender, but this is rugged enough for me for everyday use.

But of course nothing is perfect, this case has some flaws and one of them is the charging port cover on the side, the cover refuse to close properly after I charge the case. The solution is to open the case and bend the charging cover toward the inside of the case so that it would close properly again. This doesn't seem to really affect me since I wont use this case everyday, but keep this in mind if you plan to purchase this and use it everyday. Additionally, Lastly, the cutout for the buttons is very good, power and volume buttons is very easy to press. So in conclusion, here's the list of pros, cons and neutral stuff about this case. Also, ZeroLemon include 3.5mm headphone jack extension if you use a headphone or earphone that have a big jack connector.

Pros:
-Super high capacity, after full charging my phone, it still have 1 light on which means I can charge it more than 1 times
-Rugged, this case feels super rugged for a battery case
-Price is affordable, $60 is the price on Amazon during the writing of this review, which is almost half compared to a Mophie or a Samsung wireless charging case which only have around half the capacity
-Include a headphone jack extension

Neutral:
-The case is heavy and thick, which is as expected for a big capacity battery case.

Cons:
-The charging port cover cannot close properly after charging the case. You need to take apart the case and bend the cover toward the inside of the case to fix it
-Charging time of the case is not the fastest. With quick charge technology in the S7, this case feels slow to charge, it takes around 4-5 hours to fill completely which is fine if you leave it during the night

I attach some of the picture in the post.

You can get the case here (not referral link):

Full disclosure: I receive this product for a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. (christianye233@gmail.com)

How to connect phone to computer and fix touch screen?

Posted: 22 Oct 2016 12:19 PM PDT

Hi everyone, I am having some trouble with my android phone. I am using a CUBOT s350.

My first problem is that I cannot connect my phone to the computer. This problem has been there for a while now, but after spending hours trying to fix it I ended up just transferring files using Google Drive. So no problems so far.

However, now my touch screen has stopped working. I have tried all the solutions I can find on the internet, except one - a factory reset of the phone. This would be fine, but I would like to back up my photos first, by connecting it to the computer... except the computer does not recognise the phone.
I have tried updating drivers and uninstalling the device, but Windows insists I have the correct drivers installed (even after I attempt to uninstall them).

Any help on how to either fix the touch screen with no computer connection or how to connect to the computer with no use of the touch screen would be a massive help!

Thanks, Sam

Does the Pixel camera support raw capture or will it need a camera app?

Spontaneous restarts

Posted: 22 Oct 2016 12:08 PM PDT

I'm starting to get desparate: my tablet (Android 5.1) restarts spontaneously now and then.

It usually happens while playing graphics-intensive games. After a factory reset, followed by careful, stepwise installation of apps, I seemed to have located the culprit: Google Play Services. The restarts appeared only after updating Services to the latest version, after a certain game demanded it.

I then uninstalled the updates, which seemed to abolish the restarts for a few days. I then installed several other games, and now the restarts are back.

I erased the Services cache and wiped the cache partition; to no avail.

Having a non-updated version of Services is annoying in its own right, since many games say "Game won't run unless Google Play Services is updated". Whereupon all I need to do is tap somewhere on the screen, and the message is gone.

What's the meaning of this? Is an updated Services required or not? How will I solve my restart problem? Can I run some debug program that will magically log what goes wrong one second before the tablet crashes? I'm still not 100% sure that it's Services.

Is it possible at all that it's a hardware problem?

Im very much considering, a few questions though

According to reviews I've read, the Axon 7 is totally unlocked and can run on any U. S. carrier including version, sprint, T-mobile, at&t? Is this true? If it is, I can put my project fi, or project fi data only sim in this phone. It may not swap from T-mobile to sprint to wifi, but should work. Any input?
