The Facebook app it seems is well known battery hog and a google search turns up forum posts and articles that go way back. To this end I have always used metal pro on android (sometimes with the FB messenger app sometimes not) I have used the official app on iOS recently and whilst not terrible it is one of the thirstiest apps on that platform too.

The app though is updated regularly so I am wondering if there have been any improvements made and what is the android app like in November 2016? Still a vampire app or has it improved? I am curious as there are some advantages to using the official app.

before i got the pixel my data usage was less than 500mb every month, even with tethering to my laptop a few times for train journeys etc. With the pixel i'd used that in just a couple of days without really using it all that much. I found the 'data saver' option and turned off as much background data as possible, but its still using data fairly rapidly. So i've clamped down on as much as i can and then used a few apps to try and identify the culprits. Instagram is draining 10mb with each short scroll (and thats with the background data off) and facebook was using so much data i've uninstalled it.

Can anyone help on how to reduce this further please?
Surely my usage cant spring from less than 500mb per month to needing unlimited data!!

This phone has been out for over 4 months now and there is still no root for it, despite growing interest all over the net. The phone is available for both Virgin Mobile (which I have) and Boost Mobile. It's a rather cheap phone with a lot of bloatware...it really requires root to run well. Please, any phone techs or developers out there, help us non-technically-oriented folks out and post a root method. Thank you.

So I downloaded and installed Google Messenger and I can't get the quick reply feature to work.

I put pictures in a private gallery with my fingerprint to lock it. When I tried later to access the pictures, the phone didn't get a good read on my fingerprint (I tried my print multiple times)and the phone is now asking for my backup password which I do not ever remember setting up. I have tried every password and pin I ever used and have had no success getting in. I'm thinking that I will never have access to that folder again. I did take it to a Verizon dealer and they set my phone up on some system (no idea which one) to set a password but that did nothing to access this private folder. Any suggestions?

I just read that VzW announced new prepaid plans today. Trying to figure out what the incentive is for staying on postpaid and giving evil red any more money than absolutely necessary.

On my postpaid account, I have 1 line and 10GB for $90 (after employee discount).
On prepaid, I could get 5GB for $50 or 10gb for $70.

I use 4-5GB a month, so either one is an option. The new plans include carryover and hotspot usage. I don't care about Wifi calling.
Coverage looks to be the same from what I can tell on their map.

So, what are the advantages to a post paid account/plan?

I am having a difficult time to locate the wearable apk of the following apps:

FB Messenger
Ghostracer
Google Maps
Pixtocam
Wear GPS
Google Authenticator
Watchmaker

Any ideas where i could find those? I was able to extract the wearable APK of Hangout and Google Messenger (in the assets folder of the Phone APK) but that method does not work with those apps i just listed.

The most important ones for me are: Google Maps, Ghostracer and Wear GPS

Any help you guys can share will be greatly appreciated,

Im trying to root my galaxy s6 edge plus, the service is through AT&T, the current android version is 5.1.1, any help would be greatly appreciated
