Am I as safe from NSA/hackers on Android as on iPhone?

Posted: 16 Dec 2016 01:37 PM PST

I'm considering putting an Android phone on my wish list this year. My biggest concerns are privacy and security. I don't trust the US government not to use my phone against me, nor do I want to be a victim of another hack attack.

Data Management

Posted: 16 Dec 2016 01:34 PM PST

I setup the data management feature and adjusted my billing cycle and data limit. I happened to notice that the data management feature is reporting lower data usage than the My Verizon app. How can this be? I don't know why, but I was actually relying on the data management feature to report correct usage so I didn't have to open up the My Verizon app.

Why won't my battery percentage go up or down?

Posted: 16 Dec 2016 01:16 PM PST

Hi everyone, I got a 2016 Samsung Galaxy A3 about three weeks ago and the other day it was charging really slowly so I took it to the shop. A guy at the shop did some sort of reboot as if the battery was taken out. Now it's not charging past 61% but it's also not discharging when it isn't connected to the plug. Could anyone help?

Gear S3 and Hiking

Posted: 16 Dec 2016 01:12 PM PST

I am a pretty avid hiker/runner and I am debating getting an S3 Frontier. I have found some reviews of it for running but I have not seen anything regarding hiking yet. I would be mostly using it to hike known and mapped trails in the white mountains, usually for trips lasting no more than 3 days.
As a reference I have been using the gear fit 2 as a hiking companion and found it to be a very lacking product.

Some of the advertising and promo stuff I have seen for the S3 seems to imply that it would be a much better hiking tech piece, they specifically mention "keeping on the trail". I am wondering if anyone has any experience with it in these situations. Is the GPS and map utility actually that good? I am obviously never going to rely only on the watch, but having the information easily available on my wrist so I don't have to grab the map every trail junction would be great.
