Normally, whenever a file is clicked on, that have several apps capable of opening it, an "open with" menu displayed. For example, an mp3 file, and there is more than one app able to play the file.

You can choose the app to use for opening the file, *and also choose between 'just once' / 'always'*.
Choosing 'always' should set this app as the default app for opening the file, and avoid asking again.

In my case, choosing 'always' does not work. The file is being opened immediately, however the choice is not remembered.
I.E. for example clicking the very same file again, will open again the menu asking which app to use for opening the file.

root: it is currently rooted. The above situation appeared fairly long before rooting.

Tried: resetting all default apps, via apps => settings. No effect
Tried: installed "better open with" app. It had no effect, however this is expected, as the app deals with a slightly different issue

I have been searching everywhere, literally.
I haven't gone out to physical stores yet but I can't seem to find this discontinued item.
But my phone is due to a new one now and my galaxy note 4 still works fine.

I used to own a Sony Xperia Z3+ and use snapchat frequently. The picture quality was always good, however the Xperia Z3+ had severe overheating issues and you couldnt use the app for more than 5-10 minutes before it would overheat, causing severe lag, freezing and crashing.

That phone died completely after 6 months of lots of issues (it was only 14 months, so no more Sony) and I bought a Huawei Honor 8. Here, snapchat runs mostly fine (of course draining a lot of power but they always did that) however, the picture quality is REALLY bad. Like, its so low res that even the text is very blurry.

I know that Snapchat doesnt actually use your camera but screengrabs your display, however it still makes no sense, as it looks great on the display when i take the picture, but as soon as the photo is sent to a friend or mystory, it looks absolutely garbage.

Honor 8 has about the same PPI as the Xperia Z3+ so I don't really get why this issue exists, I haven't scaled down to 720p or anything, but as for now I've got a brand new phone but the app i'm using the most isnt working properly.

I have a question and I have searched this forum for answer but no luck.
The question:
Apprently there are some limitations in the Samsun gear app for ios, espicially regarding gear watch faces.
I really like the watch faces from Belvek Gear O'clock but I cant find them on my iphone gear app.

I have tried and to pair my gear s3 with an galaxy s5 phone and there im able to find the faces. I have downloaded and installed one watch faces and then paired my gear s3 with my iphone again and were able to redownload from gear app on iphone.
The problem is that when I pair my gear s3 to another phone all data/app/ s-health history and so on gets deleted

So is there anyway to be able to download the paid watchfaces on the samsung phone without having the watch paired, and then transfer those via Gear watch designer?

My phone is a moto x pure xt1575. It is currently on lollipop.

I'm coming from a Nexus 5x. My friend recommended the z play for better battery life. But I've now had it for 24 hours, and i might return it. Basically the only good thing about it is the battery thats it.

Problems/annoyances:

The back cover does not sit flush on top theres a gigantic gap that will let the cover easily come off

For the last 5-6 weeks I have not been receiving a sound or on screen notification of text messages for one of my main contacts (daughter in university). This only relates to this contact. How do I fix this?

I was helping a friend out with his s7 edge he recently bought off his other friend, and I get the screen that says that this device was reset and needs the previous gmail to verify and unlock this google lock.

So I went searching for ways, one was with turning on and off the hotspot at respective times, once you get to the part where it talks about terms and condition you select some text and press share and then to disable the setup wizzard but this version of the s7 edge basically couldn't make that happen.

The next way was looking at RootJunky video using the OTG stuff and that also couldn't pop up the file manager

Now I'm at the video of people using RealTerm, I followed all the steps till typing the commands into the send section, first command went in fine, but the second one gave me an error, so I restarted the phone and pc, same result, now I'm not sure what to do. I need help! ASAP

I have a Samsung galaxy S4. This morning I got a software update and decided to install it onto my phone. The update was a notification like all the other real updates so I ruled out the possibility of it being a virus. When the update finished, my phone turned on again but instead of seeing the lock screen, all I see is the screen when it turns on and says "Samsung" with a black background. I thought it wasn't done updating so I left it turned on like that for about 4 hours and it still didn't turn on. I then took the batter out for about an hour and put it back in and powered up my phone. No luck, it froze at the screen that says "Samsung" again. It has yet to do turn fully on today. I've been trying from 6AM and it is now 3PM. I have also tried doing a recovery reboot but It still freezes. Any help??
