Any one regret their choice of S7 edge over the standard S7 Posted: 12 Mar 2016 01:12 PM PST So I posted this same question in the S7 forum, would love your feedback. Hi all, So as the title suggests, any one regret their choice or considering a swap the larger of the family? I am personally on the fence, I have been using a note 5 and a 6S Plus for the last few months and swore I wanted a smaller phone this go round but as I always do, I went to best buy today on the way home and held my phone next to the edge and it's not that much bigger, for me I could care less about edge functionality, it's all about battery. Curious to hear your thoughts. |
Posted: 12 Mar 2016 01:10 PM PST Hi I got such a nice quick reply on my last question I thought I'd try again As I mentioned in my last post I am handicapped and always looking for ways to make things easier for me. One problem I have is with the keyword. I still have partial control of one hand, although sometimes my fingers lock up and the hand becomes a fist. When this happens my control over how long and hard I press a key leads the keyboard to put an alternate letter/symbol on the screen. Is there any way to restrict the keyboard to selecting the displayed key and not an alternate? Thanks again |

Unlock code is required after a restart, rather than just a fingerprint! Posted: 12 Mar 2016 01:09 PM PST The fingerprint sensor is fast and very sensitive. It works great, until the device is restarted. Then, instead of being able to unlock with a fingerprint, it says "Swipe screen to unlock". After swiping, this pops up: "Enter password instead of using fingerprint recognition after restarting device to protect fingerprints". WTF?!?! I looked for settings to change this, but either I'm blind, or there are none. Any help would be appreciated! Or if it can't be changed, I would hope for an explanation from either Samsung or Google. |
Can I make Aviary my default photo viewer/editor? Posted: 12 Mar 2016 01:08 PM PST Hi there, I was wondering if it's possible to make Aviary (or any other photo editor) the default on my HTC M8 phone? I don't like Gallery, and I don't like that 'fx editor' that seems to be default editor when I launch the gallery. I'd like to be able to view my photos through another viewer straight from the camera. I've tried to reset my app defaults but the Camera still launches Gallery. Thanks |

Google+ Stopped - How can I view my photos? Posted: 12 Mar 2016 01:00 PM PST Every time I take a picture or try to look at one, I get a pop up that says Google+ has stopped, and then I cannot view my photos. I have an LG G3 and have turned it off and back on several times, but the problem persists. |

Samsung S7 Edge - Google Play App Loading and Updating Posted: 12 Mar 2016 12:52 PM PST From the beginning I have had a constant problem either loading a new app or updating an app. The temporary (I hope) fix that I have had to use (found on the net) is to #1 clear all my application data & #2 Power my phone Off and then hope that the new app or update for the app will load onto my phone. If this process is successful (which it is not always and therefore I have to repeat the steps until it does work), Im able to load 1 new or 1 update (It never allows me to do ore than 1 at a time). Ive been using this work around for almost 2 days straight to get my apps loaded or updated and working.I have never had this problem before with any iOS or Android phone (I just transferred from the iPhone 6s to a Samsung S7 Edge. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, have you found a way to permanently fix it? Thanks much |

Posted: 12 Mar 2016 12:48 PM PST I have a htc one mini and it has come into contact with water briefly but I mean briefly I had spilled a soft drink on the desk and then quickly retrieved my phone resulting in the screen and the top of the phone to come into contact with the water should I still wait the 48 hour rice method, I am rather impatient and do not like the looks of removing the battery of the htc, So if you can help please do so urgently, Thanks. |

I Do NOT Recommend Buying the New Samsung Fast Charger Posted: 12 Mar 2016 12:47 PM PST 600x600_4.png So I purchased (and returned) the new Samsung Fast Charger that is tilted at an angle as shown in the picture above. While it looks really cool and would allow you to be able to do stuff on the phone without having to hold it, there is a serious concerning design issue with the charger. What is it? The little lip at the bottom that is supposed to hold up the phone. What's the issue with it? It's too thin! The phone will barely fit on the little lip, making it very risky for accidental falls. I had the S7 Edge to see if I would really want the bigger variant and put it on the charger. I pushed on one of my apps that was at the top of the screen, and what happened? The phone slid right off the lip and fell to the ground. Thankfully, it fell on carpet so it did not cause any damage to the device. The lip design is going to be a problem for Samsung because there isn't enough traction or space for it to comfortably hold such a tall phone like the S7 Edge to a level where it won't accidentally slide off because you pushed on the upper part of the phone a wee bit too hard. I would not recommend this to anyone who wants a charger next to your bed. I can imagine that there may be cases of the phone sliding off because the alarm clock goes off, you wake up really groggy and try to get it to snooze, and whooop... you accidentally hit the phone in your attempt and it slides right off or you push on the screen too hard and it slides right off. I might recommend this to someone who plans to use it at a place like an office only if the phone would just slide onto a table and there is no risk of it accidentally going off the side (as might be the case if it was on a nightstand). If you plan to get the charger anyways, you MUST put on a case for the phone to protect it. The lip does not provide enough traction to combat the slippery metal of the bottom of the phone. Chances are... you will make it accidentally slide off. Keep in mind that even if you put a case on it, it will leave even less room for the phone to comfortably sit on the charger. Since I returned it, I will just get the one that lies horizontal, and not worry about my phone sliding right off of that. Side note: I swapped the S7 Edge for the S7. The Edge ended up being too tall for my tastes and the curved glass, while absolutely stunning, is not as practical for when I browse websites with white backgrounds because of color distortion. |
