Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:51 PM PDT Why do we have to adjust routers to not use ipv6...shouldn't this phone just work. What if this affects someone else's device in my household. Just curious and a little angry that this is causing so many issues. |

Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:49 PM PDT Ok hi everyone, I'd like to know if there's anyone with experience who can tell me if I can buy with peace of mind a 128 GB microSD card for my Samsung Grand Prime. I know they say the max capacity is 128 GB so technically it should be fine but I've heard that some people say that when you try to use the max capacity, you tend to get bugs. Can someone hereconfirm whether this is true or not? thanks! |

Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:47 PM PDT I'm just trying to understand how things work with Samsung. I have an iPhone 6 right now, and I'm thinking of switching to the S7E. Prior to the iPhone, I had a Nexus 4. The similarity between my two previous phones is that they were unlocked - not tied to a carrier. So I got my updates directly from Google or Apple, and I could easily switch carriers, which I did, from AT&T prepaid to T-Mobile prepaid. The iPhone even works with both CDMA and GSM carriers, I don't remember if the N4 did or not. So with Samsung, it appears there is no unlocked version of the S7. But you can buy the international version, though it won't work with Samsung Pay. Or you can buy the Verizon version, and stick a T-Mobile SIM in it, and it will work, but probably won't support wifi calling or the right Bands or some other T-Mobile exclusive.. so in general, there isn't any way to get an S7 that is carrier independent, is that right? In the past, has Samsung sold true carrier unlocked phones like Apple or Google does? Or is there any reason to think they will in the future? TIA. |
Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:44 PM PDT How does the contacts edge work? I mean, I know how it works as far as calling and texting people. It is a pretty quick way to get directly to them. But I thought it would show a color or something if they call or text you. Or do you need to use the default app in order for that to happen? |
Windows 10 only sees Galaxy S6 as camera Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:37 PM PDT I just upgraded to Window 10 from 7. I attach my Galaxy S6 via USB to my computer and the only thing I can access is my image files because the computer sees my phone as a camera. I used to work like a flash drive. I can no longer access my audio files. How do I fix this |

Is there ever going to be a fix for the T-Mobile LG G3 wifi calling? Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:34 PM PDT I recently bought a brand new LG G3 unopened out of the box for my Tmobile phone and when I connected it to my Wi-Fi and did all the necessary updates I started getting an error message which also prevents me from making Wi-Fi calls. I tried contacting T-Mobile and they have yet to answer me back on a solution as well as I tried to contact LG and that didn't go so well either. So I wanted to know who is or will there be any update to fix the problem with Wi-Fi calling for tmobile carriers using LG devices? |

Notification Bar does not open on swipe-down anymore, so Tools not available? Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:33 PM PDT Something happened to my new S7, I suspect caused by the super-sensitive touchscreen executing some random function. This screen keeps picking up random 'touches', and the keyboard is driving me crazy. In particular my home screen icons changed and I think some disappeared, but the biggest problem is the that the Tools swipe-down has disappeared, and the Notification Bar does not open on swipe-down anymore. So I have no access to "Tools". Is there any way to revert to the original screen layouts. Also is there a way to auto-sort the app icons by name instead of by Install Order? |

Bootloader Locked. Regarding root and device rights. Posted: 22 Mar 2016 12:23 PM PDT Hello everyone. It appears Samsung has locked the bootloaders of all U.S. variants of the phone potentially by request of U.S. carriers. Basically, they have taken ultimate control over what software is allowed to run on your device. Alongside their security features, this means that even if you want to install an application with root permissions and custom functionality, you can't. It's not likely they will do anything, but as a customer I believe purchasing a device means you should have final say over what software is installed and what apps are allowed to run (Especially in the US, freedom bro?). Samsung believes they have final say. Bloatware, ads, tracking software, they choose, not the device owner. If this doesn't bother you then fine, have a nice day :). If you want Samsung to at least address this, and why this is only the case with U.S. devices, there's an angrily worded albeit self explanatory petition - (Can't post a link, Google search: S7 bootloader petition change.org) addressed to Samsung and T-Mobile requesting to at the very least provide the option to users to have control over their device. Prior to this year, AT&T and Verizon were the only carriers to have bootloader lock policies regarding certain devices that they sell. It appears the trend is catching on and those of us that value third party software are losing out here in the U.S. Samsung has already provided an optional bootloader unlock to S7 users in China and South Korea but they absolutely refuse to release it in the U.S. If you are curious and want more info I suggest googling topics on the Galaxy S4 bootloader as that was the first to be locked, there are also various articles talking about it. T-Mobile's CEO John Legere has commented on twitter saying that they're looking into a potential solution. Other carriers haven't said anything yet. You can try tweeting at him, by the way, @johnlegere. It's better than nothing, but without more users being concerned, it'll likely fall by the wayside unfortunately. We're just asking for an option for those of us that want it. |
