Posted: 27 Mar 2016 12:04 PM PDT About an hour ago, my phone all of a sudden glitched out when I went into gallery. It turned gray and lines appeared across screen, with a distorted image of my gallery in the background. I restarted it multiple times and same thing happens in most apps, all ending with a slow fade out to black. Now my phone is at 0% and wont charge/turn back on. Please help. |
Samsung Galaxy S3 Flashdrive Camera Storage Posted: 27 Mar 2016 12:02 PM PDT So I love capturing videos on my S3 but it takes a lot of space with the highest settings and after I capture many videos and pictures, I have to use by USB OTG and connect it to my USB flashdrive and move the files which doesn't sound like much but after awhile, it gets annoying. Is there a way to automatically store the video files to my connected flashdrive? (I checked the settings in camera mode to see if the storage detected my flashdrive as a storage area but it didn't) |
Signal drops out and comes right back Posted: 27 Mar 2016 12:01 PM PDT I'm in NJ and on T-Mobile and recently I've been having an issue when I'm on mobile data only with Wi-Fi turned off and my signal with go from full LTE to completely gone and I'll get a notification telling me that I've lost service. Also, when I make a call, with Advanced LTE enabled, I drop down to H during the call. That never used to happen. I'm on the most recent build and security update. Anyone else ever experience this? |
Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:58 AM PDT So I tried Android Pay after the MM update, and it works (like before). Except, this time it still didn't ask for my fingerprint, and I had to use my pattern to complete the transaction. Anyone else try AP and made use of the FP sensor to authenticate? |
Really confused about the "sd card as internal storage" feature Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:53 AM PDT Just got a Moto G 3rd gen (from Koodo) and it immediately prompted me to update to Marshmallow so I did. Since the phone only has 8gb internal space I was eager to update because Marshmallow allows using the sd card as internal storage. However I am confused about how this works. I put in a 32 gb sd card and it prompted me whether I wanted to use it as portable storage or internal. I selected internal, and it formatted it. Good. However when I installed some apps, only one out of about 10 (Netflix) gave me the option of installing it to the sd card. The other ones installed themselves to the internal storage and as far as I can see they can't be moved to the sd card. When I go to Storage & USB, it lists the following: 5.36gb used of 36.50gb Android OS 3.47gb Internal storage 1.79gb used of 4.53gb (where is this 4.53 figure coming from? The phone is supposed to have 8gb of internal storage) sd card 101mb used of 28.50gb I'm really confused by the 1.79 of 4.53 gb part, does this mean I have only another 2.74gb of space left to install apps? What about the other 32 gb from the sd card that it claims to be using as internal storage? As far as I can see most apps are still installing themselves to the internal storage (the true internal storage, not the sd card) and there is no option to move them to the sd card. |
Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:51 AM PDT I used to use a couple apps to show what LTE band I was using but now on this 6P they don't show band information. I don't see the LTE band in use in settings either, what gives? |
Has anyone replaced their battery yet? Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:50 AM PDT As new phone season arrives, I've been thinking about whether to hold on to my S6 or "upgrade" incrementally to the S7, G5, or maybe the new Nexus. All things considered, I realized that I am still quite happy with my S6, none of the new features of any of the new flagships this year make me stop and say wow I need that in my life. On the contrary, I'd like to see how the implementation of new features like always on, reduction of rear cam megapixels, and move away from micro USB (G5) pan out. That said, my biggest sore spot with my S6 is its absolutely atrocious battery life. If only that could be addressed, I realized, then I would happily hang on to this phone for another year or even two. That said, have any of you folks braved the disassembly of your S6s to install new/better batteries? Ive seen some youtube videos and it definitely seems... Manageable by people with steady hands and experience. Posted via the Android Central App |
Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:45 AM PDT Hi, been holding out for the silver over in uk but no sign of yet. Does anyone have any ideas if it is likely to be released sometime over the coming months or whether it's just not gonna be a uk or European allocated colour? |
SD card won't work? Stuck with notifications Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:43 AM PDT Anybody figure this out... I can't access any of the data on my memory card now very frustrating it worked fine for a week after I got this phone and I've been stuck with this notification for the last 7 days unable to use the card. (Encrypting SD card) none of my files appear even when I plug into computer... Oddly enough it still has the option encrypt/decrypt sd card and when I start the phone it ask for sd card and password... When I go to the storeage settings the SD card just says "ready" I restarted my phone a bunch of times and like that it started reading my memory card again.... It worked fine for 2 days... Eventually I had to restart my phone and what do you know I'm all the way back at sqare one no memory card accsess. Ughhhh so frustrating ruining my experience with this phone... Wish I had just never encrypted in the first place. I can't find any other information on the Web about this problem either. Any tricks to getting the phone to read my SD card? My phone "reads" the card I have to enter the memory card password upon booting up the phone. I get the encrypting SD card notification aswell.... Under the storeage menu the SD card is just listed as "Ready" I cannot access any of the files (they don't even show up) just odd that my phone knows the card is there but does not actually read it? |
Have virus and can't change off of virus's screen. Samsung note 10 Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:26 AM PDT Have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with some stupid virus and it won't let me switch off of the virus''s add thing. Can't open settings can't get onto home page, can't do anything. Any ideas welcome. |
Odin not added in download mode Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:19 AM PDT Odin recognizes my Galaxy S5 but not when I put it into download mode. I have the USB drivers installed USB debugging turned on, and I'm trying to flash the CF auto root md5 file. I did this before successfully. Doe this have anything to do with Lollipop 5.1.1? |
Why can't I handle my Samsung S5 without turning the volume off or hanging up on the caller? Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:17 AM PDT Each time I take my phone out of my pocket or my purse, I unavoidably touch the side of the phone and turn the volume off. If I am answering a call and take the phone from my pocket or purse, I almost always hang up on the caller before getting the phone to my ear. SO frustrating. |
Marshmallow: How do I remount an Adoptable Storage Micro SD Card? Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:14 AM PDT I have a Motorola G2 (Android 6.0, kernel 3.4.42-gef77327) with a micro SD card mounted as adoptable storage. The card is faulty (self-unmounted a couple of times), and I wanted to copy the (irreplacable holiday) pictures to another device. As I now know, this is not supposed to work by simply moving the card. The problem: After some mucking around, the card is no longer recognized by the G2. Did I use the SD card's "forget" option? I don't think so, but it looks as if I did. http://nelenkov.blogspot.de/2015/06/decrypting-android-m-adopted-storage.html looks promising, but it is a year old, and some things apparently have changed since then: If I insert the drive into a Linux box, it's not automounted, and gparted does not recognize it. The only option available seems to be a reformat. So irrespective of what the website says, is there a way to read the contents of the SD card? Perhaps a way to tell the G2 to remount it as its original adoptable storage device? Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:09 AM PDT Can someone tell me what the N icon represents? Using Samsung Note 3. Posted via the Android Central App |
Posted: 27 Mar 2016 11:05 AM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I've noticed that no matter what options I try on the phone itself when I take a photo using the front facing camera and try to upload it to any application ie, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram etc it all turns the photo sideways into landscape mode. I have tried all of the options within those applications and I have tried all the options on the camera itself. The photos look right on my phone in the gallery but as soon as they are uploaded they are turned sideways for some reason. Cropping and using any of the rotate features within the applications does not resolve the issue. Photo information from one of the photos list this: type: JPEG size: 1.2MB resolution: 2560x1440 orientation: 270 degrees. I thought maybe it is the resolution size that is causing it to do this so I changed the resolution size of the photos and tried it again and the same issue happens. I thought maybe taking the pictures using the front facing camera in landscape mode and the same issue happens. So I took the same photo with my rear facing camera and no matter the resolution it posted the photos correctly. Has anyone else had this issue before or currently having this issue? This seems to be an issue with the front facing camera only. Has this been reported to anyones knowledge to any of the phone manufacturers or the creators of the OS in general? |
