has anyone had problems with the s7 overheating. Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:39 PM PDT took me ten minutes to get it to turn off, then it just turned back on, hot to the touch, with no active apps running, only background. Every time I tried to turn it off it would try to open Pandora or the camera or just do nothing. Finally got it off and it is cooling down, but almost afraid to turn it back on.. |

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:34 PM PDT I keep getting notified that there is an update available for my Kindle app (marshmallow 6.0, droid turbo 2, Verizon). When I click to update it goes through the whole download then when it's installing it says no can do. Went through the play store six-step help process and still no luck. Can anyone think of what might be going on? Thanks Posted via the Android Central App |
Read a lot, but can't figure out notifications issue.. Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:25 PM PDT So I've read a lot of posts and articles since getting my OPT. I cannot really figure out how to get notifications - ESPN, text messages, etc. - to pop up when my phone is asleep, locked, however one describes it. It seems I get notifications when I first put the phone down for a couple of minutes, then nothing until I unlock the phone. Once I unlock they all come streaming into the status bar. I've checked all the usual places - slider settings, app notification settings, etc. all of these are set to their default values. I thought I saw this was an issue with Doze, but this doesn't take "hours" to start happening, just a few minutes. I thought this was a bug that OxyOS 3.2.1 was going to fix but maybe I only thought I read that because I installed 3.2.1 this morning and the issue remains. I'll add I'm coming from iPhone where I had notifications for all of the same apps, text messages, voice mail, etc. all on the lock screen immediately. Maybe behavior is different with Android? |
Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:24 PM PDT An undeniably good-looking phone with no shortage of nice things....minimum storage of 32gb, excellent colour gamut display, fingerprint sensor, that intriguing double-camera, and a small price tag. Installing SD card for mobile - Nothing is happening? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:23 PM PDT I bought an Adata MicroSDHC CARD (storage card) for my LG android mobile device. I carefully put the storage card into my mobile device, and the card seems to be working. I checked my settings ( Settings > General > Storage ) and it says "SD CARD" right under "Internal storage". So I'm assuming that means it's put in correctly, and that it should be working. I have a total 7.37GB available storage in the card. But, when I tried to download an application from the Google Play store, a pop-up keeps coming up saying; "Insufficient Storage - This device doesn't have enough space to download "App name". Consider deleting apps or context you no longer need and try again." But I have enough room to download it? --------------------------------- While I was typing this, I found this link: (Link has been counted as spam - The link was Google's Support page "Install and use a micro SD card" in "Android One Help" And I started to follow it. I did exactly what it told me to do to see if it would work, and a notification isn't coming up. I've taken it out, re-put it back in, turned the phone off before putting it back in, did it while the phone was turned on, I restarted the phone also, and etc. I worked really hard to see if any type of notification would show up, but nothing came up! |
I have almost 7GB of Cached Data on my phone and I can't clear it. Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:21 PM PDT Hi all. I have a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 with 16GB Internal Storage and a 64GB micro SD card running Andriod 5.1.1. I tried to do a screenshot today but was told I hadn't enough storage. When I looked at Settings/Storage, I noticed that the Cached Data folder had 6.99GB in it. When I tried to delete it nothing happened. I've no idea what this is or how to clear it. I've been into individual apps to check on the size of their caches but there's nothing anywhere near this size. Anyone got any ideas? |
Is there a way to customise crown button function on Huawei watch? Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:14 PM PDT I'd like to customise the crown button to activate Google voice commands so that I don't have to say 'OK Google'. It would be useful to still be able to control brightness and sleep/wake with the double and triple press functionality. Does anyone know any apps or modifications which can allow customisation of the crown button? |
Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:12 PM PDT Remember back in the good old days when computers were made to simply function? What happened??! Every single time i get an automatic update, my device gets LESS user friendly and looks more stupid. Please STOP! Or at least ask me first! |
Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:10 PM PDT How can I get mobile data on a brand new phone with brand new sim cards? |
Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:10 PM PDT Actually for the LG G Pad 10.1... Whenever I use the Beats Pill for sound while watching a movie, the Blue tooth connection randomly drops. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It can be 5 mins into it or 15, it just does it. Has anyone else had this problem? |
Android Wear: Angelfish and Swordfish Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:07 PM PDT Google's possible Android Wear smartwatches leaked in renders | Pocketnow Quote: Today we find some very interesting renders of Google's possible Android Wear smartwatches, codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish. The renders are actually not what was originally leaked, but instead recreations with minor changes in order to protect the anonymity of the source. The recreations are claimed to be very close to accurate and at the left we can see Angelfish, which is rumored to be the LTE-capable smartwatch with extra buttons, and the smaller watch at the right is Swordfish, the typical Android Wear offering. The source claims that Google's MODE watch bands might not be compatible given the curves of the chassis between the watch lugs, but it could also be the case that this is just a design element that is flat within. |
