Pictures and videos won't load from mobile to Hisuite/PC? Posted: 14 Jan 2017 01:16 PM PST I can't upload my pictures and videos anymore when using the USB-connection to the program Hisuite on the PC (I have an Huawei). The strange thing is that the connection is fine and the program and everything else shows like normal, except the pictures and videos which are totally blank/black in the Hisuite program. But these files exist and are just fine on the mobile. Someone who has a clue how to solve this? |

Best Android Auto unit? 2014 Mazda 6. Posted: 14 Jan 2017 12:57 PM PST Looking for the best Android Auto head unit that would fit in a 2014 Mazda 6 with Bose system. I know there's some third-party device needed to enable steering wheel controls. Is it possible to splice the Bose microphone into the AA unit, so I can keep using that? Been keeping my eye on the Sony XAV unit they just put out, but some folks have said Pioneer is the way to go. I just want the best cost-to-quality ratio that'll fit and look great in my car. Bonus points if I can hook up the USB port on the back of the unit (during installation) so it runs to the USB port in my center console. The Mazda 'infotainment' center already had that USB function, so if I can keep the cable there, that'd be stellar. Thanks! |

Posted: 14 Jan 2017 12:48 PM PST Hello! I was trying to fix proximity sensor in my G2 D802, but after turning the phone back on, the screen doesn't work at all. After a lot of googling, I decided to check all the connectors inside the mobile phone, and that's when I found out that there is one pin missing in a connector next to the charging port. 2017-01-14 21.06.58.jpg So I'd like to ask, is it possible that this problem is caused by the missing pin? The only thing not working is the screen, other functions like front and back LED, vibrations, double tap to unlock seem to be working just fine. I've already checked Ebay for replacements of the flex, where the faulty connector is placed. To my surprise, the versions for D802 are quite a bit more expensive than the ones for D800, D801 and D803. What are the differences? Can't I just use the version for D803, as they seem to be exactly the same as the ones for D802? Thank you for your answers! |

Nvidia Shield Pro Android TV-Basic Questions Posted: 14 Jan 2017 12:41 PM PST I am strongly considering buying one and currently have my preorder placed on Amazon for a January 30 release. I've decided to get the Pro version, since I think the 500 GB hard drive will be beneficial for storing music, movies, and videos. I just had a few questions and was looking for some advice. I currently have a Samsung Smart TV that already has Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video preinstalled. I also have a Chromecast 2nd Gen hooked up. I am currently using a Pixel XL 128 GB as my primary phone and this already has the ability to Caste from the Screen to the Chromecast baked into Android. If I want to display an app or video on my phone, I'll caste the Pixel's screen to my TV via the chromecast. The one disadvantage to doing this is that I can't use my phone while casting the screen, since the screen will change to whatever I am looking at during that time. I am assuming that a Nvidia Shield would give me the potential to sideload any apps that were on my phone and allow me to run most of them directly from the Shield to my Samsung TV, thus freeing up my phone for other uses. If I had root apps that were running on my phone, could I potentially, at my own risk, root the Nvidia Shield and run those same apps? I currently have Kodi installed on my Pixel XL and have played around with it a little. I am confident that I will probably install Kodi on my Nvidia Shield Pro as well. Does anyone know if Nvidia offers the easy ability to flash the Shield Pro back to stock, if I get tired of any custom software and/or mods? One of the things I have always liked about Nexus/Pixel phones is knowing that I can do what I want to the device, within reason, and always have the easy ability to flash/restore the stock firmware if I ever change my mind or decide to sell the device in the future. I'm not a huge gamer, but does anyone see any other advantages that the Nvidia Shield may offer that my Chromecast, Pixel XL, and Smart TV do not? |

HTC One M9 stuck in Bootloop; Recovery seems impossible Posted: 15 Jan 2017 01:13 PM PST hey guys i'll try to keep it short. HTC One M9, no branding, official software, locked and S-ON. one month ago my phone got (for no apparent reason) serious software problems, so spend a lot of time on the internet to find a solution. in the end, i downloaded the correct stock rom, put it on a sd card and reinstalled stock android via the download mode. it worked out really well, my phone was running like new. but 2 days ago i pick up my phone and realize it's stuck in a bootloop. (again for no apparent reason) using the right button combinations, i am able to get into the bootloader. when i try to flash the stock rom with the exact same method that worked last time, it says "start ui_updating" and gets caught in the bootloop again. (i dont think i did anything wrong because the exact same procedure worked last time) when i enter recovery mode, i get the infamous red triangle. using the right buttons, i can still access the recovery mode from there. now, when i try to factory reset from here, i get the following errors: E: failed to mount /preload (invalid argument).. try emmc mount E: Cant find device node for mount point again E: mount /cache fail, format it and mount again ----- about 5 more similar errors after those 3. another thing: when i let my phone in the bootloop for some hours, it exits the bootloop and the screen says: your phone is encrypted and it asks me to enter my "screen number". after i enter my PIN, it says that the number was correct (strangely this also happens without the SIM inserted) but my data is corrupt. it gives me a option to factory reset from here, but when i press it, it is infinitely trying to reboot until i shut it down. i would be so glad if anyone could help me or give me a hint. i barely have any money left and i need the phone for my work. thanks in advance <3 |

Posted: 15 Jan 2017 01:00 PM PST Just got a new M8 from Verizon as an exchange for a damaged one (or maybe a refurb)- The battery is losing 60% in just under 3 hours of very light usage and, its shutting down at about 20% (whatsapp appears to be using 60-70% of my battery and I have no clue why). Any ideas on whats causing this? Also, when I go to "Battery Optimization" and then click "all apps"...and then close it down and reopen, the apps have been shut off from battery optimization and I have to turn it again? Any help/guidance here is greatly appreciated. |

How to create application independent url shortcuts? Posted: 15 Jan 2017 12:22 PM PST I have created some bookmarks in chrome and added them to my homescreen. These are either some apps/websites which i vist rarely and want to avoid having individual apps installed or some daily visit websites which doesn't have an app. These shortcuts open fine with chrome but the problem is they open only with chrome. I am currently trying some lightweight browsers like xbrowser, naked browser and want these shortcuts to open directly with the system's default browser. Even if I uninstall/disable chrome, these shortcuts don't open with any other browser. Same goes for shortcuts created using any other browser. I would like to have url shortcuts on homescreen which are independent of any particular browser. Plz help |
Buggy Android (tab 4) - No Wifi / Touchscreen Stops Working Posted: 15 Jan 2017 12:14 PM PST Hi All, I searched and found some solutions to my problem but nothing seems to work. I have a Samsung SM-T320 / Tab Pro 8.4 running 4.4.2 (KitKat). I use it here and there, but today it's just overly buggy. The settings program, flipboard, google play, etc all randomly stop working. I tried to update the Os and it says I've modified it so it can't. The touchscreen stops working randomly and sometime when I turn it on the wifi doesn't work and takes 15 minutes to get it working. I finally got tired of it did a hard reset, but no luck. Then I rebooted and wiped the cache and installed from scratch and had the same problems. The tablet has worked fine without issues but now seems to be worthless. What do you suggest? This is a very vanilla tablet for me. I've installed almost nothing on it and have no files. Not rooted or anything. Just a back up device really. Thoughts? |

I inserted the card properly and the phone says the card is mounted. But I cannot see/find where it indicates the card is. I can use a file manager to see my files, but when I select "copy", the only choices I get to copy are on the same internal storage. Just copying duplicate files into additional folders I created. How can I copy the files onto the card, instead of on the internal storage??? Please help! Thank you for reading. |

Need APP That will Auto Reject calls AFTER 15-20 Seconds of ring time! Posted: 16 Jan 2017 01:20 PM PST After getting a new phone - it turns out that Verizon can no longer adjust the ring time before Voicemail picks up.... So I am stuck! However, rejecting a call is the same thing as sending it to VM. I found some apps that will auto reject, but they all reject IMMEDIATELY - with no settings for the length of time. Anyone know of an APP that will do what I am looking for - or even a contact number for an app company? |

My other Samsung I had had a dictionary in the settings under language but the Samsung Note 5 does not seem to have that. There are email addresses that show up because they are that i use, but i would like to eliminate the email addresses from my saved predictive text. Does anybody know how to find this dictionary or how to delete words that you don't want? In addition when I say curse words into my phone it replaces the curse words with Asterix. Does anybody know how to turn that function off and allow my phone to type the curse word? Thank you! |
My screen broke. How do I remove my SD-card? Posted: 16 Jan 2017 12:59 PM PST Hello everyone, I bought a brand-new Samsung S7 phone two weeks ago. I loved it. Today I was looking trough some photos and suddenly the screen turned green with white lines and red dots. Out of nowhere. The phone still functions, I can see the LED-display light saying I got a message. I am going to send my phone back to the store, but how do I backup my settings, apps and text logs from the phone? I had an SD-card with photo's on it stored inside, I can't dismount it via the phone. Smart Switch is not installed, and I can't access the phone in any way. I can unlock it with my fingerprint though, but the screen is black. What is the best way to transfer my stuff? I never backed up the phone before, I didn't expect it to die so soon. |

Why does my games go black screen while i'm playing them? Posted: 16 Jan 2017 12:29 PM PST I have a new(only had it a few days) android tablet with the marshmallow 6.0. The First day worked great but now while i'm playing a game it'll go to a black screen and i can not do anything but tap back to home. Rarely will it close out to the home screen.. Also not sure if this is related but my browser will act like it's been refresh.. Any help i only have like 6 apps that i put on it. |

"open with" - keeps asking every time Posted: 17 Jan 2017 01:28 PM PST Normally, whenever a file is clicked on, that have several apps capable of opening it, an "open with" menu displayed. For example, an mp3 file, and there is more than one app able to play the file. You can choose the app to use for opening the file, *and also choose between 'just once' / 'always'*. Choosing 'always' should set this app as the default app for opening the file, and avoid asking again. In my case, choosing 'always' does not work. The file is being opened immediately, however the choice is not remembered. I.E. for example clicking the very same file again, will open again the menu asking which app to use for opening the file. Additional data: Doogee X5 PRO running, Android 5.1 root: it is currently rooted. The above situation appeared fairly long before rooting. Tried: resetting all default apps, via apps => settings. No effect Tried: installed "better open with" app. It had no effect, however this is expected, as the app deals with a slightly different issue |

I haven't gone out to physical stores yet but I can't seem to find this discontinued item. But my phone is due to a new one now and my galaxy note 4 still works fine. Anyone knows a place? |
Honor 8 - Very poor quality on snapchat Posted: 17 Jan 2017 01:27 PM PST I used to own a Sony Xperia Z3+ and use snapchat frequently. The picture quality was always good, however the Xperia Z3+ had severe overheating issues and you couldnt use the app for more than 5-10 minutes before it would overheat, causing severe lag, freezing and crashing. That phone died completely after 6 months of lots of issues (it was only 14 months, so no more Sony) and I bought a Huawei Honor 8. Here, snapchat runs mostly fine (of course draining a lot of power but they always did that) however, the picture quality is REALLY bad. Like, its so low res that even the text is very blurry. I know that Snapchat doesnt actually use your camera but screengrabs your display, however it still makes no sense, as it looks great on the display when i take the picture, but as soon as the photo is sent to a friend or mystory, it looks absolutely garbage. Honor 8 has about the same PPI as the Xperia Z3+ so I don't really get why this issue exists, I haven't scaled down to 720p or anything, but as for now I've got a brand new phone but the app i'm using the most isnt working properly. |

gear S3 and Gears app on iphone limitations Posted: 17 Jan 2017 12:43 PM PST Hi all I have a question and I have searched this forum for answer but no luck. The question: Apprently there are some limitations in the Samsun gear app for ios, espicially regarding gear watch faces. I really like the watch faces from Belvek Gear O'clock but I cant find them on my iphone gear app. I have tried and to pair my gear s3 with an galaxy s5 phone and there im able to find the faces. I have downloaded and installed one watch faces and then paired my gear s3 with my iphone again and were able to redownload from gear app on iphone. The problem is that when I pair my gear s3 to another phone all data/app/ s-health history and so on gets deleted So is there anyway to be able to download the paid watchfaces on the samsung phone without having the watch paired, and then transfer those via Gear watch designer? Don't know if I should return phone to store Posted: 17 Jan 2017 12:41 PM PST I'm coming from a Nexus 5x. My friend recommended the z play for better battery life. But I've now had it for 24 hours, and i might return it. Basically the only good thing about it is the battery thats it. Problems/annoyances: The back cover does not sit flush on top theres a gigantic gap that will let the cover easily come off My T-Mobile LTE signal is so bad compared to my 5x its simply not acceptable at all. No led notifications???? Phone is so slippery im afraid to ever use it out of the house in fear of dropping it Horrible pictures in low light Hate the small buttons on the side compared to the big ones on the 5x its too difficult to take screenshots That's all i can think of at the moment im sure there's a few more but honestly aside from being a faster phone and better battery I'm really tempted to go back to my 5x even tho i really wanted a new phone but all these problems idk if i still wanna keep this phone a lot of this is simply unacceptable |

I need HELP with Google bypass on November security patch Posted: 17 Jan 2017 12:07 PM PST I was helping a friend out with his s7 edge he recently bought off his other friend, and I get the screen that says that this device was reset and needs the previous gmail to verify and unlock this google lock. So I went searching for ways, one was with turning on and off the hotspot at respective times, once you get to the part where it talks about terms and condition you select some text and press share and then to disable the setup wizzard but this version of the s7 edge basically couldn't make that happen. The next way was looking at RootJunky video using the OTG stuff and that also couldn't pop up the file manager Now I'm at the video of people using RealTerm, I followed all the steps till typing the commands into the send section, first command went in fine, but the second one gave me an error, so I restarted the phone and pc, same result, now I'm not sure what to do. I need help! ASAP |
Phone freezes when powering on. Posted: 17 Jan 2017 12:05 PM PST I have a Samsung galaxy S4. This morning I got a software update and decided to install it onto my phone. The update was a notification like all the other real updates so I ruled out the possibility of it being a virus. When the update finished, my phone turned on again but instead of seeing the lock screen, all I see is the screen when it turns on and says "Samsung" with a black background. I thought it wasn't done updating so I left it turned on like that for about 4 hours and it still didn't turn on. I then took the batter out for about an hour and put it back in and powered up my phone. No luck, it froze at the screen that says "Samsung" again. It has yet to do turn fully on today. I've been trying from 6AM and it is now 3PM. I have also tried doing a recovery reboot but It still freezes. Any help?? |
