Hello! Im a first time owner of a Huawei P9. Yesterday I tried to log in into my huawei id but forgot my password so I kept trying different passwords until the phone gave the message that my account was suspended, all of this because the password recovery email doesn't seems to be working, I clicked the forgot my password option but never received the email to restore.

Please help me, I don't know what to do!

I need some assistance finding an app to help me out.

I work for a limo company. I have to call the client 30 minutes prior to pickup to verify the pickup with the client.

The problem is that when I dial from my mobile phone the client sees my personal number as the caller ID instead of a company name.

Is there an app that would allow my phone ID to show up in the client's caller ID as MY LIMO COMPANY -212.555.1212 instead of just the 212.555.1212 phone number?

I need to make my personal phone look like a company phone, complete with a name identification so that the client answers the phone instead of ignoring the call.

I've seen spoofing apps that hide/change my number but I haven't found one that will show a custom alpha display.

Any suggestions?

How do I use the phone microphone and usb audio out at the same time?

The CD player in my car (Rockford Fosgate 8250) has a digital input so I am doing audio out on my Pixel in this setup:

Pixel -> USB OTG to USB to S/PDIF converter -> Digital Coax Cable to Deck Digital Input

The audio output works great but when I set it up this way the microphone on the phone stops taking input, I assume it is also looking for audio input through USB. Is there anyway to maintain the usb audio output while keeping the phone microphone input?

Nexus 6p Noise/Lines in Photos

Recently bought a Nexus 6p 2 daya ago and observed these lines in the photos taken using the camera, they show up while I am pointing camera at something. Sometimes they go away if I restart the camera app multiple times. I thought it's related to marshmallow so I updated to 7.1.1 using the OTA update, but the results are the same. It's not all the time but like 70 percent of the time the lines are there and will vanish upon restarting the camera app 3 4 times. Any leads if it is a hardware issue as my phone is under warranty and I would be returning it if it's a hardware issue. Any fixes available?

I bought a Verizone sumsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 sch-i705 through a friend from USA. Sadly when i received it it was bootloader locked. so i tried to root it with kingroot and it worked. then i tried to unlock the boot loader it said transfered successfully and when i commanded reboot via terminal simulator it wouldn't boot. Not even any sign of power on charge or sign of any response on recovery. help. my mail line: [removed by moderator]

Hi! i changed my phone number and now all my amazon apps get stuck on a white screen. I have cleared cache/data and forced stop. I have uninstalled rebooted and reinstalled. Nothing works. My number is updated at Amazon. NONE of the Amazon apps will work. Everything else works. What is going on and how can I fix this???

No serial number for Galaxy S5 SM-G900R7

Okay so bear with me. I purchased an unlocked galaxy s5 from a private seller that came with the box and etc, was on Ntelos network, the serial number is nowhere to be found in the phone settings, behind the battery, or on the box. The phone has meid numbers such as pesn, dec, and hex. I tried several apps such as phone info which listed a bunch of 0's, eleven to be exact as the s/n. The phone is indeed genuine according to the genuine galaxy app. I contacted samsung help report through chat but they were of no help and told me to call them, which I can't since the phone doesn't work with my straight talk at the moment. I had received a straight talk sim to use from At&t but they assumed it was bad and will be sending me another one. The odd thing is I had a verizon phone with straight talk sim and it worked in the phone, just didn't have data. I would like to know if anyone knows a way to find the original s/n. Please don't tell me to check the phone status and etc., i already know how to do that, it isn't there. Thanks

The products in this category are great little helpers providing a graphical representation of the network traffic going in and out of you PC. When I was reviewing possible contenders in this category I noticed two things. Firstly, it seems that each tool has a slightly different understanding of how to compute the bandwidth used (in and out). Secondly, most of them had problems to detect network devices under Windows. When I try and access my voicemails from the phone app, I am sometimes not able to see my voicemails, and can only see the favorites, contacts and call history tabs. Turning on and off visual voicemail seems to only fix it temporarily.

hi, I would like to know how can I remove the owner's account from my phone, I am using a moto e 2nd gen 4g lte model running on marshmallow, I bought it from the previous owner who no longer remembers his account he used.I already reset the phone but it keeps on asking for the original owner's google account. s7 says downloading do not turn off target

My s7 went dead overnight. I woke up this morning and plugged it in and got this blue screen with the download do not turn off target on the screen. It also seems to have tech specs in the upper left hand corner. I have tried holding the main button and power button at the same time to reboot it. It works and the phone starts up with 1-2% battery and I have tried multiple times to get into the settings to do a factory reset but the phone dies before I get close. I have family photos on my phone that are not backed up :( I would really appreciate some advice! Thank you so much!

What prompted me to switch? I used Android exclusively except for a iphone 4s for a year or so when it first came out. I would always be on the lookout for the latest, most feature rich offering from Android, from the HTC One, to the Samsung Notes 4 & 5. However, when it was time for an upgrade there was nothing that really made me feel like I'd be getting a huge upgrade from my note 5.
The Note 7 had already been recalled twice and honestly even with the waterproofing and improved camera it didn't feel worth upgrading to from a Note 5, nor did the LG V20. I loved the Note series and wanted my next phone to be a Note (used the S Pen constantly). The Edge's 5.1 screen seemed a bit too small for me and also not a big enough upgrade.

So I started researching Apple/iOS to see how far they'd come since my 4s days and I was impressed!!

Settled on a beautiful gold 128g 7 Plus and after having wait a few weeks for delivery (>_<) kit's been a pleasure thus far

Hardware: Beautiful device and form factor. Just as attractive as the Notes & Galaxys, better looking
than the Pixel Xl and with more refined detailing. Feels good in the hand, comfortable to hold in landscape or portrait (even for my small hands). The silent switch is a nice convenient touch. No true notification light took a few weeks to get use to but raise to wake is nice and I just set my notifications to repeat until I check them so I don't miss anything.

The home button works extremely well and under Accessibility you can change it so the phone can be unlocked just by resting your finger on it, no need to even press down.

Speakers are very loud with no distortion that I've noticed thus far.

Battery Life is excellent. One charge lasts me one full day and into the evening on the next especially since I'm on wifi the majority of the time and keep my brightness down. And for that reason I've never run into any trouble with wanting to use headphones during the same time I'd need to be charging my phone. I charge overnight if the phone is at 50% or less and that's it.

Fast charging would be nice but wireless charging never appealed to me so that didn't matter.

Overall iOS: Very fast and seamless

Apple really does take a lot of the tweaking out of using your device so you can simply focus on the apps and content. The silent switch is useful and I love night shift so much that I keep it on most of the time. The search function (for web, phone, & apps is extremely helpful.

Being able to clear all notifications quickly is also a nice convenience.

Widgets are lacking but I knew this would be the case. Samsung offered widgets such as Places that would change settings like Bluetooth, Wifi, based upon location that I do miss. Overall, the widgets are not bad though (Calendar Music, Weather, & News all work effectively enough). Also, where Apple lacks in widget functionality they make up for it with Force Touch. Press firmly on messages to send quickly to favorite contacts, or on your Twitter icon to go straight into crafting a new tweet. Press firmly on message notification banner and you can read recent texts from that contact and reply right there. Switching between apps is a breeze, just press firmly at the left edge of the screen and you'll be able to see/switch between all open apps in card like format.

I do miss multi-window from the Note 5 and the minimize screen function is lacking. On my Note 5 I could press the home button 3x quickly and reduce the screen to the bottom right or left corner and use the phone one-handed while maintaining near full functionality. However, with iPhone you can only reduce the screen size to half vertically and once you open the keyboard the screen returns to full size.

The camera takes amazing pictures and I have no complaints here. I've used the depth effect many times for portraits of my husband and dog lol. Panorama mode frequently during the holidays for group photos and just yesterday to film the wintry landscape.

Messaging: On my Note 5 I'd go back and forth between stock messages and Messenger, and both were ok but the community behind iMessages leaves both of those in the dust. I'd say 85% of the people I text with have iPhone or at least an iPad. All the cool effects for the screen and bubbles, highlighting texts with suggested emojis. I love it all. I'm constantly playing Connect 4 with friends. Real nice to be able to access a few apps right in Messages. Also, as a person of color it's pretty cool to have access to various emoji shades. Nice touch and I don't see why it can't come to android. I'm a girly girl so I loveeee finally being able to put emojis next to my contact's names.

Keyboard: The keyboard is very nice, spacious, and comfortable. The first day adjusting I had a lot of typing errors but since then I hardly ever make any. I do miss being able to long press keys to access symbols and I don't understand why it's not included in 10.2's keyboard since they capability is there to press and hold to access diff key options just as we can with emojis.

I'm heavily invested in Google Apps since they work so seamlessly with Android but most of them are crippled on Apple. I get it but still annoying.

Chrome: I ended up switching to Safari because Chrome would crash constantly, but I've grown to like Safari. The reader view for articles is nice.

Chromecast: Functionality is crippled and I should've researched this before I purchase my 7plus but I use Chromecast almost every day. For my TV apps like Hulu, Netflix, and Hulu but I cannot stream content I'm watching purely from a browser. I'll have to use my laptop and cast from a Chrome tab.

Google Play Movies/TV: Can watch but not buy directly from app. I guess you'd have to go to the website.

Google Play Music: Works the same except, I can't access my Podcasts, I guess Apple wants me to switch to Itunes for this or Apple Music. I loaded some of my music into Apple Music but I have too many playlists already built in GPM to switch my streaming service now. But I may upgrade to a family plan on GPM and add one of my iphone friends in exchange for a spot on their Apple Music account to have the best of both worlds.

Oh, also the Apple upgrade program was a huge plus.
• Not committed to any particular carrier (I have a Sprint phone but it can switch to any of the other majors)
• AppleCare is included for a flat fee rather than pay my carrier $11/month ($132/YR.) as long as my phone is in service and then a $200 deductible on top of that

Hmm I think that's it…feel free to ask me anything but overall this isn't a comparison specifically to any current Android phone, more so just letting anyone who's thinking of switching know that I didn't find too many pains and overall I'm enjoying the iPhone experience immensely. I don't think one is better than other per say, the operating systems are just different. I'd be open to returning to Android in the future for a worthy new Samsung or HTC offering.

I unlocked my phone the second my contract was fulfilled 2 years ago. So happy because I am paying a sweet price using another carrier and I won't ever have a contract with anyone ever again. I love my note 3 and considering its been in an garage-kept in an OtterBox since the day I purchased, there isn't a mark on it. I want to get rid of all the apps that I never even used when I was with the carrier. I disabled or turned off all that I could but I want to take advantage of the bloatware taking up precious space.

I am an application junky but I download, try to use quickly and delete if I find useless. I am not a gamer, nor into social media. I am more into productivity apps and use the note for my kitchen design company thanks to the S Pen.

I am very computer literate (but limited to AutoCAD,C+, C++ and HTML) but I don't have the gonads to root my phone because if I crack it by mistake I'll probably need to dial 911. I rely on my phone more than my Toshiba laptop or really slow Samsung tablet (that came free of course)which totally sucks.

I have recently purchased a Samsung S7 edge and the new phone is not able to recognise contacts stored with a country prefix. For instance I live in Australia and our country code is +61. I have stored many local numbers with this prefix. When I receive a call from one of these contact S7 is unable to display the contact name. However if I receive a call from a contact that is not stored with the country code S7 is able to display the contact name. I never had issues with S6 or HTC desire. Any help is much appreciated.

I had been using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) and a few minutes later, I could not unlock my phone. I had a pattern as my lock, but it kept telling me it was incorrect even though I had unlocked it moments ago. I tried using my backup pin, but that was apparently wrong too. I used my gmail account to unlock my phone. I tried changing my password but soon it did the same thing. Again, I used gmail and tried to change the password, but it claimed that I had to know my old password to change it and the one I was using to get into my settings was "incorrect". I made it so that my phone had no lock whatsoever but then when going to my lock screen settings, it still requires a passcode to open. Nothing will work, especially because I don't even have a lock anymore! My phone isn't locked anymore, but I can't change my password. I don't want to reset my phone. I have a lot on here.

I literally have no lock screen now which means I can't use my gmail to help me. I can't change my password because I need a password to do that. Can someone please help me? I don't want to have no password. I would rather not have anyone going on it.

My phone keeps showing 62%. I try to turn it on, but nothing happens. Earlier, my phone shut off out of nowhere and it said 1% remaining and that I had to charge it. I charged it for a while and tried turning back on again. It didn't work so I took out the battery and put it back in again. It jumped from 9% to saying 62%. What's going on and how do I turn it on again? Any possible causes might be me using a new portable charger with a new micro USB charger.

Battery drain maybe?

Hi all!

For the first time since getting my Nexus 6P my phone died while I was outside. I don't know if it's because it's -20 outside that it turned off and didn't want to turn back on. It didn't even tell me I had no more battery. I tried turning it on again I heard the 'low battery' sound and then a vibration then it turned off. But before that happened , my battery was at 67%. Once I got home and plugged it in it started to charge it like if it was dead. I turned it back on while still plugged and my battery was half way and now it's at 60%. I'm currently on Beta version 7.1.1. Does it have to do something with it? or does my phone have a problem??

Can't Hear Caller Through Headphones

I have a Moto X, 1st Gen. When calling with my headphones, the person talking to me skips in and out as if the connection is bad. My headphones are wired with built-in mic. All other audio is fine: music, videos, etc. so the speakers aren't the problem. As soon as I unplug the headphone, I can hear the person great, so it's not a connection issue. The person can hear me fine (even though background noise is very loud).

Everything is updated, I've restarted the phone and still having the same issue.

Anything would help. Thank you!

Cracked screen, No display, data retrieval

Sprint Galaxy S3, dropped, cracked screen, went black and no display. Phone does have a passcode on it. Phone seemed otherwise working in terms of notification sounds, incoming texts and emails, ringing when called, etc. - but access was impossible without a display. I tried Samsung 'Find My Phone' thanks to you on these forums, I do have this phone registered there, shows in my account, but FMP page said not found and to log out and back in my account on my phone - which I couldn't do!
I tried Kies, Kies lite and Smart Switch, but none of these will work without phone unlocked - which I couldn't do.
I then tried Dr Fone for android, clicked on "data extraction/damaged device" per their instructions. Entered my model. Next step was 'put your phone in download mode' - "power off phone > press/hold Vol down+Home+Power button > then Press Vol Up. This all went ok I guess, as the program indicated it was downloading data by percentage.
When it got to 90%, it stayed there, little circle going round and round, all night - say about 5 or 6 hours. I quit the program at that point and unhooked my phone from my PC.
So here's the issue - I cannot start my phone back up now! I 'think' there's charge in the battery but not sure at this point. When I press/hold the power button I'll get that short startup buzz, but nothing happens after that. If I plug in the charger and press/hold the power button, I'll get the short buzz, and then that short buzz will repeat cycle every 3 or 4 seconds, for as long as I leave it like that - but that's all the phone will do.
I believe if I can start it up again I can try other things I've seen on these forums - try another S3's screen connection, on the go cable, etc.
I have an S7 on the way today, and photos and phone book were all backed up, but there are many other important docs, downloads, calendar appts., texts, on the phone that I really need.
So... Can anyone help get this phone started again??
And an aside - If I activate my new phone when it comes today, will this interfere with any recovery efforts on this S3?

Yesterday my phone stopped charging properly. I have a Note 4 that I have for just over 2 years. I was planning on upgrading to the Note 7, but yeah that wouldn't have worked out well. My phone won't quick charge, won't connect to PC and takes about 10 hours to come to a full charge. I have done a factory reset to no avail. My plan was to wait until the S8 or a new Note comes out however, I no longer think that that is going to be an option. Should deal with the long charge times and wait until April, cash in on the insurance, paying whatever I owe Verizon for a new phone or buckle and get an S7? If you could fix my charge port that would be helpful too.

Sidesync and BT controller (moga pro power) problem on s7

Hello all, this is my first post.
I'll get straight to the point.

My recently bought Moga power pro BlueTooth controller is working fine (when used directly the Android OS, apps or games), however there seems to be a driver problem when it is used together with Samsung's Sidesync application.

As soon as the connection (via USB cable or WiFi) through Sidesync between the phone and the PC is established, the only controls that can respond are the analog sticks and the D-pad. All the rest (A, B, X, Y, start, select, R1, R2, L1, L2) fail to respond. Tested also with gamepadTest application.

Can it be only with this Moga controller? Any possible solutions? Did anyone else have full control with their gamepads and Sidesync?
Looked around the Internet for days but nothing.

My AOD display on my Galaxy S7 edge does not show my stock email or messages text notifications. I went to the settings and made sure the notifications were "on", and I only use the stock email and messaging app. How come my AOD wont show it? It wont even show missed calls (as I tried it to test with another phone). Am I missing something?

Can't Get a Connection

I have a unlocked Moto G4 with Android 6.0.1 that I bought from Republic Wireless and used with Republic Wireless. Now I want to go to Sprint and my phone should work. The Sprint sales staff put a SIM card in and it is being read but will not connect.

Keeps restarting reboot process

My samsung galaxy mini 2 (I no it's from 300 years ago) has started doing weird. When i tried turning it on the samsung logo appears, then the phone name vibrates and starts over. And the only way to stop it is by pulling out the charger and battery. It does shows the sign that it is charging and how much percentage I have. I tried turning it on while the volume-down button was pressed so that I could reset it but NOPE. I hope im not the only 1 experiencing this problem. PLZ HELP

Samsung S111 Mini pulsing and battery flashing when switched off

Had this phone just over 2 years and noted battery draining after about 7 hours. I recharged phone with it switched off to speed the process. Once at 100% I unplugged charger and phone pulsing with vibrate and flashing battery symbol on screen causing it to drain rapidly. I tried factory re-install but still the same. After charging again I removed battery then re-inserted. Phone lasted 48 hours from full charge. I recharged and same issue observed re the pulsing and battery light. Topped up charge again to 100%, removed and reinserted battery and hey presto working for about 48 hours again. Have ordered a new battery to try and see if this resolves the issue, in meantime appreciate any other advise.

Pull files from Nexus 6 with broken screen?

So I dropped my Nexus 6, and shattered the screen. It still turns on and I would like to pull files from it. But I can't change the setting for what the phone should do when connected to USB (Since the screen doesn't work).

Any ideas how I can get files off of it?

Welcome to 2017, and another year (hopefully!) of contributions from me. As you may have noticed, I took a couple of weeks away from the PC over Christmas, but I'm now back behind the keyboard again. In 2016 the stories I posted on this Hot Finds section achieved more than 2 million hits, so we're clearly doing something right. But if there's a great item of freeware that you've found, and which needs to be brought to more people's attention, then drop me an email and let me know. Now, back to the Hot Finds, and here's a nice technical one to start off the year. It's a program which displays loads of figures and graphs about the state of your DSL internet connection. So whether you're having issues with speed or reliability that you want to troubleshoot, or whether you simply want to understand more about the DSL/ADSL standards, this will be of interest.

The program is called DSL Stats, and it's a 3 MB download. It's also malware-free according to VirusTotal and Web of Trust, and is portable. Just download, unzip, and run.

The program works by connecting to the telnet command-line interface on your router or modem in order to issue and interpret commands needed to generate the reports. I am not a power user and my Smart Phones are generally budget offerings. So with that in mind and the fact that I had a Samsung Gear S2 for Christmas, will a New Samsung J3 (2016) 8GB with 1.5GB of ram (I believe they run Android 5.1?) work with the S2..has anyone any first hand experience of this?

Notification on incoming text?

Hello, when I receive a text on my HTC ONE M9, the notification sounds every 15 seconds until I attend to the text. I only need it to sound once or twice at the most. I have unchecked every option in Sound and Notification but it continue to sound (Lilac) every 15 or so seconds. Surely, this is part of the phone's sounds and not anything to do with my email account as I have read in earlier posts. How do I get a one-time text sound when a text comes in? Thank you for all your great info here! :-)

why can't I send SMS via ok Google

I have a Oppo R7Plus smart phone.
Android version 5.1.1

Google now launcher 3 version 6.9.36.21.arm.64

Using Hangouts as default SMS app
Version 15.0.141104777

My problem is that I am unable to send a voice activated SMS via 'ok google'

I tell it to send an SMS. It asks me who I want to send it to. I then speak the text I want to send. It asks me if this is correct and if I want to send it. I say SEND. It then says sending.

It then comes back and says 'message couldn't be sent'
No other information.

I have tried changing the default SMS app back to messages but still the same result.

I have tried it on other phones and it works perfectly, but not my wife's Oppo R7Plus.
Have spoken to Oppo and their last email said.

"Hi Robert,
Thank you for contacting OPPO.
Sorry to hear that you can't sent a message using OK GOOGLE.
With reference to this, please be advised that there are problems with regard to the OK Google
System. We will provide you feedback once it is fixed"

If that is the case why does it work on Samsung phones?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Picked up the pixel today and got the Verizon shell/holster combo case. I almost always get this case with my phones. I noticed it looked a bit strange so I checked the reviews and found that I was right. The top of the case doesn't quite fit because of the wedge shape. Could this cause any damage to the phone. It's already been removed

Show Voice call while in an app - changes to Pop-up

There is a setting under call, then More, 'Show Voice call while in an app'. As the menu option indicates, it allows you to see call info while in another app. There are three choices. However, I want it to be on second screen. It will stay that way for a while and at some point in changes to Pop-up. It is not the worst problem, but I like it on the second screen.

I am wondering, is anyone else seeing this issue. I am using the Action Launcher 3 plus version. It seems to change at random times. Anyone else experiance this or know what is causing it and if there is a fix?

Verizon store sold me a rooted phone. What can I expect when I return it?

The battery in my LG G2 was changed and now my phone will not ring for incoming calls or play any tunes or music. It will vibrate and I can hear the caller when I answer the phone.

It seems the Android system is using 19% of my battery life with other apps closely behind it. I have put it into airplane mode to see if it will charge faster or not. So far it isnt heating up like it did but it isnt charging as fast as it should either.
